Crash at end of stage
tsj
Hi. Firstly I have read the other threads with people having the same problem. Secondly I have also tried solving the problem with the advice given in the other threads; alas this has not helped. So on to the facts.

I experience a complete crash somewhere along the stage (in 3d mode) which requires me to brutally reboot my computer. I have an almost new HP laptop which looks like this:

I have installed PCM2010 and the 1.0.2.2 patch. Initially I also had the pcm.daily expansion installed but I made a fresh reinstallation to avoid this being an issue. Currently I am running the original db patched to 1.0.2.2 with these very low graphics settings:

I have been messing about with this since yesterday morning with extremely limited success. Any help would be appreciated. Of course I am hoping very much that someone will call me a noob and that I have failed at something simpleSmile

In advance thanks for your time and help.

I tried forcing but that didn't work really well. I also lowered everything to "0" and running in "XP service pack 3" mode. I did have a little success as I have actually finished two races (but that is out of a total attempts of maybe 20). I can see from the Cyanide forums that other have the same problem and it appears to be with the ATI cards. I reinstalled PCM2009 to check and that works fine with plenty of details. Guess there is not much to do other than wait for either a patch or a graphic driver update Sad Which kinda sucks.

Thanks for taking time to answer.
