Is PCM 2010 finally a "true" manager game?

Hi.
I'm considering buying PCM 2010, but I was wondering if there have been any changes to the manager side of the game. I am mostly concerned about the finances; I'm a fan of FM, there you have countless ways of tweeking your finances. This is something I missed in PCM 09.
To me, if you look past the races themselves, I feel like there are only two aspects of the manager part; scounting/signing riders and making sure you dont lose money, and I must that neither of them have any depth. Taking care of the finances only hs one aspect, are you currently spending more on wages than you have a budget for? No? Allrighty then, no you're done for the day.
Has there been any changes made to this? I'm wondering because it is kind of a make-or-break situation for me.
Hopefully you can give me some idea of what to expect |

true. the most important improvement in face of both versions is the stage graphic. but it's still more some kind of sport simulation than a manager game (my very own opinion).
maybe they improve the manager part next year... |

Thanks alot I guess I'll just wait untill the next one comes out. I can still enjoy 09 and it seems to that there arn't many differences between that one and this new one |

oh there is a difference, just not in the management part.
Personally I can't play PCM09 now.

The finances in the real world is much more important and independent in football than in cycling. So I guess they won't do much about the financial part. It's not a business where the team has to make a turnover like football. |

It's not just the financial part. I feel that the experience of hiring better staff and riders is hollow at best |

I agree with you. The cycling part is great (except the mass sprints on 2010, which are a real mess; very good on 2009, totally stupid in 2010) but the managerial and finantial part is very poor. Not much to do and what there is, doesn't have much depth. This is not bad in itself, there are many who don't care about these areas and just enjoy the cycling part.
And maybe, indeed, it just mimics reality, unlike football, there doesn't seem to be a lot of excitement on the finantial aspect of cycling. The sponsors allocate money, teams are created and teams disappear, cyclists change teams and that's it. Nothing too exciting. And, unlike football, where one is a fan of a team, in cycling, usually people follow the riders, they don't care too much about the teams? |

The financial part isn't probably one of the most important things even. But at the same time, the financial side would get a lot more interesting if the game included some communication with the sponsors, riders and staff. For example, during the season the sponsor announces that they are going to give you this and this amount of money for next season. After hearing this, you should look at your riders if you can afford them or not. Of course the money varies now in PCM, but at the moment I find the goals and sponsor confidence to be a bit pointless.
For me, the most important new features for the management part would probably be :
a) "real" communication with the sponsors regarding preferred races, goals, riders etc.
b) communication with the riders regarding the races they do and the goals they have, better contract negotiations
c) communication between the riders, and perhaps even the staff, the staff isn't the most important thing for me but at the moment they again seem a bit pointless as you just have to sign a random guy who is good enough in some area |

It looks nice but there are some bigger problems in the game play. Just read some of the threads here and look at the pictures (link is at the left: Screenshots), to see for yourself. |

Personally I think I will wait 'till next year. PCM is just to... bland for me at the moment. |
