free element on quick sim

what does my rider do if i have him as a free element on a normal ride or take risks they only seem to show if on breakaway?

A rider on free element will just ride with the peloton and not do anywork (unless ticked). If you select "breakaway" they will try to get into a breakaway. And if you select "take risks" they will attack the peloton when the break has been reeled in.
