- Relay means staying infront of the pack and "pulling" it forward. usefull for catching breakaways.
- Moments were yuur rider is feeling good. This means that he can attack fr a little bit longer than usual.
- When you get to about 50-40 km to go, the peloton has such a high speed that it's impossible to get a breakaway going. The other teams are not interested in you getting a gap so they speed up.
Keep in mind, my responses are based on PCM 09, but I guess it should be the same
The game knows to settings "short relay" and "long relay" (or infinite relay). If you set your rider to relay he will go to the front of the group or peloton. To set it you can use the two buttons just left of the water bottle.
If you attack it might happen that his name is flashing green. This is a green moment. As said, your cyclist can attack longer. It has the same effect as the energy gel.
You should only attack if the peloton is slow. But the peloton is speeding up in the second half of the stage to chase the early break-away. So, in the last part of the race, the only chance for a successful attack is during a hill or mountain.

Either that, or your rider should have a tremendous high number in flat so he can ride faster than the peloton.
