The route is known and im playing with the pcmdaily2010DB
So then off to the story telling:
Welcome to le Tour de France 2010. Its gonna be an interesting race over 3 weeks with six horrorfying mountain stages. Many strong cyclists are at the start of this years tour includin Contador, Schleck and Menchov.
Also there is a great number of big sprinters like Mark Cavendish or Thor Hushovd. Many Questions are still open before the prologue. Who will win the KOM classification? Is Mark Cavendish gonna win his first green jersey with Greipel as luxury teammate or is it gonna be hushovd for the 2nd in the row?
But the most interesting Question is: Who will win the Tour? Is it gonna be a duel between Schleck and Contador or are there more conter´nders or is it a suprise man? Lets see how the next 3 weeks develop.
10. Place went to Peraud from Omega Pharma Lotto. The French champion in Individual Timetrial set a good time and was missing only 22 seconds to todays winner.
9. place was Toni Martin. The Young german timetrialist is Columbias man for the general Classement and today showed his strength in Time trial... With ia time of 10min17 he bet his teammate Rogers by 12 seconds and came in 9th 21 seconds behind todays winner.

Place 8 went to british timetrial specialist david Millar. With the same time as Martin he only got 9th place because he started before the young german. however he wont be batteling for the GC as he will just help Vande velde for the podium.
The main favourite for the GC came in 7th. Alberto Contador lost 20secs on todays winner but well ahead of his main contender Andy Schleck...

Although he said he will help Contador, Vinokurov finished 4 secs ahead of contador and only 17secs behind the winner taking 6th place in both, todays race and the GC.
Although beeing last starter of the day and a big favourite of todays win, Wiggins could only battle for a good place in the GC as he only finished 5th with only 13 secs to todays winner.

Best Result for a serious GC contender was scored by Denis menchov. With his amazing TT ability he finished 4th gaining 11 secs to contador and loosing only 10 secs to the winner

3rd place was scored by Andreas klöden. He had an amazing timetrial with only 6 secs missing to be the winner of the day.
2nd was Levi Leipheimer. since he is only helping Lance Armsrong on his last tour he will not be fighting for the GC. He only lost 5 seconds and will wear the green jersey as substitude for todays winner.

But nobody was strong enough to beat Cancellara today. Saxo Banks top TT rider was the only one reaching a time under the 10 minute mark. With 9min56 he won todays prologue and took the lead in the GC.
The other favourites had more or less a day like every one expected them to have....
Although Kreuziger took 11th he might not be the strongest in the mountain.
Kirchen came in 15th. The Katusha Capitain might be the worst climber however its the tour nd youll never know.
Sanchez was 16th, Vande velde 20th, Armstrong 26th and Andy Schleck 46th... Tomorrow is a flat stage so there wont be any big changes in the GC.
