Stage one of a race, I had my best climber. 12.5km left and I decided to attack up the last climb up to finishline. Rider would not attack. I kept trying no go. he did not get the icon behind his name either.
Then Contador attacked I could not counter attack, nothing happened when right clicking and counter attack. I had full red and yellow and lots of green. So I had to put him on dot and 99, got closer to contador in the end, when it was time to sprint I pressed the sprint icon, but same as attack, he wouldn't do it, tryed to counter sprint contador, no go either
All my other riders could attack and sprint, I did use the rider who could not attack or sprint to observe contador, but had stopped observing him before I tried to attack.
What happened there? it ruined my whole race and I'm now 40 sec behind contador after the first stage. I would have held him if I could have counter atttacked or even attacked first like I tried to do.

OK, note to self, use a help rider to observe in the future.
I stopped observing just before I wanted to attack.
But I stopped observing at about 12.8km from goal and still couldn't sprint at the finishline. How long do I have to wait?

NEVER use your leader to observe another rider.
BTW, you can win stages and races without observing. In my eyes it is crap anyway because in real life a rider is able to observe more then one other rider but the finding could be totally wrong.

Yeah, it was the first time I've ever use observe, contador had -1 and my guy had +4 so this was the stage to take him, and I messed it up. Oh well, at least I learned something
