Welcome to Strade Bianche, or Monte Pasci, or something ending in Eroica, anyway this should be an excellent hilly gravel race decided among the 8 sections scattered along the route, before we head up a final uphill sprint to the line.

Favourites today are Cancellara, Ballan and Burghardt, although there are plenty of other riders in with a shot of victory.

As we start section one we have a break of 4: Maisto, Arango, Pertrie-Armstrong and Fleeman, with Champion and Coletta about to catch.

A variety of teams share the pace making as the peleton arrive at section 2 2 minutes behind

with 116km to go and on the downhill Quinziato and Jacobs attack the peleton.

as we finish the flat with 70km to go Quinziato and Jacobs' lead is down to 2 minutes

35km to go and Nuyens leads off the attacks

Nuyens leads off the final gravel segment with the gap to the 8 chasers hovering at the 55 sercond mark

with 8km to go Summerhill is in no mans land at +30" while the other 2 were pulled back

Nuyens and Ballan are soon neck and neck
