Quick inquiry here - I'm a long-time player of PCM08 and a big fan, despite the moderate bug/stability issues. While I picked up 09 I've played it little due to a combination of having heavily edited/modded 08 (and not wanting to repeat that work) and seeing little different/upgrade to 09 beyond rider updates. My question here is what the general range opinions may be on the worth/reward of jumping to the new 2010 game? I'd much appreciate it if people who spent some time with 2010 would post up some pro's and con's of the new game, especially in relation to 2008. I notice the graphical overhaul in some of the game videos and I have a system more than capable of running the game on full settings but eyecandy alone a good game does not make.
Beyond that, does 2010 have the same accessibility in terms of modifying/editing riders/teams/gear/stages etc as 2008 did? I have basically created an extensive 1996-8 range roster/teams/shirts/etc and am willing to recreate this in the new game if the payoff is worth the time.

So indeed it is. The game is improving from year to year. And the AI and game-motor is sick compered to the PCM 09 game.
So i would say yes.
Based on my first expereince the AI is indeed sick, but not in a good way.
Immidiately installed all patches, the pcmdaily db and the TdF startlist. Started a TdF on normal with Bbox.
Prologue - ok.
Stage 2 - ok, sprint finish
Stage 3 - Not normal at all. Group of 5 got away early, shortly after another 5 joined In the group was Wiggins, Auge and Fedrigo along with some other decent riders. Break was allowed to win by 2 minutes. Fedrigo in yellow.
Stage 4 - Not notmal. Break immidiately, 10 men strong with loads of great cobble riders like Flecha. I kept them within distance, but my team was no where near strong enough on the cobble sections. Other teams did not help until too late. Break lasted, Flecha won by ~1 minute.
Stage 5 - Sprint finish. Ok.
However, from the two sprint finishes the teams does not work in as well organized trains as they did in pcm 09. There was no team mate leading out Hushovd, Cavendish etc the just follow each other. And a random, non sprinter team, was leading the peloton.

I've experienced just the same! The sprints aren't the same as in 09 ....
I can agree on that, but i like the way the mountain stages are now. Its not the favorites attacking and forming a group all the time. Its riders falling of from the back of the Peleton. I love that!
But the sprints are not good anymore, and the breakaways are too "strong" - because the strong teams don't take responsebilety until it's to late.
But i like the 2010 version, it got much more potential then 09. But thats just me
Im sorta waiting on the last patch and PCM databases because i am not happy with the way the games is at the moment
Really confused with the new "detailed simulation" some of the information doesn't save (eg. free element is Fabian Cancellara but i want to protect the leader Jen Voigt. Change to protect Jens go to another team mate but when i come back to the other rider its back on Cancellara)
Quick simulation doesn't work the same as it did in 09. The lead out function only works for the leader no matter who the rider the team mate is.
