Should I start a career?

I've just got PCM 2010, but I hav not gotten any of the patches or DB's yet. I was wondering wether or not I should start a career now, or just wait until the (hopefully) last patch and the final version of PCM Daily's DB is out?
By the way, could you tell which patches I need to get before I install the latest one (1.0.1.8.)? I have heard that you need one of the earlier patches before installing the lastest one and the final DB? |

You need to install the two last patches. The patches should contain anything from the earlier patches, but the 1.0.1.8 doesn't contain the Tourmalet fix |

Nope, Cyanide forgot to put the Tourmalet stage fix in it. You have to install 1.0.1.6 also  |

You shouldn't start a career yet, there is still a bug where young riders have superb stats for everything.
so after a few year there are ten times as much stars as now |

it should be fixed in 1.0.1.8, but it isn't.
Cyanide admitted that they just solved something that might cause this problem... because they couldn't reproduce the bug. |

... and personally, I'm still waiting. At least one more patch will be released, so there's not really any reason to start now. |

I've started a career once the pcmdaily db beta was released but the game still feels flawed. Some annoying bugs like unrealistic sponsor goals are gone, but other bugs are still there :
- Sprint bug : following someone just doesn't work once the sprint starts. Makes it really hard to start a career with a small team and a half-decent sprinter. According to Cyanide it should gets fixed in the near future.
- Quick simulation : when changing the leader I can't switch some riders to aid him, it always resets to the previous person who was designated as leader.
Not sure if it's bugged or supposed to be so in this edition but at the intermediate sprints for points or mountain jersey I don't really see much action.
I hope that the sprint bug will be removed pretty soon because that one is certainly annoying for a career with a small team where a sp 75 / acc 75 sprinter might earn you some wins if you play it well. |

You should take someone with flat about 70 (lets call him person A) and let the sprinter (person B) follow A. Then you let A follow any1 who is near to the front of the peloton (should try to get some1 who makes pace at the front). Then you just have to keep your 2 riders in front and when sprint starts you can tell B to follow a sprinter and he will do it! (With this e.g. Sulzberger [69 sp] got 3rd place in a Down Under ---> Pro Tour sprint)
I couldnt promise you that it will work for u too, but you should try it |
