A few years ago I released a cycling board game to a small audience, the details of which can be found here: https://www.boardg...25105/tour Anyway, I've been working on a new game which relies more on the tactical awareness of the players and from playtesting it seems to be working out nicely. My aim is to release the game for free to allow players to download, print and play with friends. Part of the appeal of the game will be the team sheets which will allow players to fill their team full of either real life cyclists, their friends, family or whatever.... So anyway I need to come up with some stats for riders and the thing is, like everyone I AM BIASED, even if I don't mean to be. So I would love a group of folk who could give their ratings which should provide an average that will probably even out to being the right rating. Anyway, the ratings for each category are between 4 and 8. This shows how much effort a rider can expend on that surface at maximum. If the peloton is together than a rider at the back can use less effort than a rider at the front. No riders will have less than a 6 rating for flat riding, meaning that on a flat stage no rider is likely to drop out the peloton unless they expend a lot of energy leading the group for a long time. The categories are: FLAT: The flat domestiques will score into the 8s, as will the power men and the sprinters. The skinny mountain fellas will be back in the 6s or 7s along with the other riders. HILLS: The classics riders will be high, the pure sprinters will be struggling, but it's unlikely any riders will be down to 4. MOUNTAINS: Shove a 4/5 on Cavendish and the grupetto. 8s to those top dozen GC guys, 7s to the mountain domestiques and 6 to those others who can at least haul themselves over a mountain. DOWNHILL: 4s and 5s to the Menchovs of this world. COBBLES: High scores for the Northern classics riders (8s for Cancellera, Boonen, Gilbert etc) and trouble for some of the GC climbers. SPRINTS: 8s to all the big names, not just Cav. 7s for the decent sprinters and top lead outs....4s and 5s to those with skinny legs. So with those in mind, I've chosen squads of ten from six teams to begin with (and more to come). I would be very very thankful if you guys could rate as many of these guys as you can/want to.
