Meaning of different rating
acf69
I am sure this has been discussed, but a search proved not to get me any info and also the manual draws a blank.

I do understand some ratings (sprint, downhill etc.), but for some I am having trouble understanding what they point to.

For instance Stamina: I understand the principle, but does a rider with better stamina can compete in longer races, can attack for longer etc.?

A link to an existing thread would be good enough Wink

I've attached a stat guide (by Ruben).

Hmm I thought the attacking rating gave you more red bar (not longer but it takes a bit longer to spend and it's faster to fill back up)...

I don't really get the importance of recuperation, I played the Giro and Cunego won (73 Rec in the DB I used) in front of guys who had much higher stats...
Team Europcar !!

The fighter stat definitely does more than simply deciding which riders attack the most. (Heck, just look at the breakaways, lots of guys with less than 70 fighter). A rider with a good fighting stat is better at "hanging on" to other riders despite his other stats (mountain, hill, cobble, flat) being lower than the others.

Whether it is the red bar as you suggest Jeremy, I don't know.

Wrong, Roo. The fighter stat influences two things:
1. The riders' likeliness of attacking
2. The chances of getting 'green moments'

This is confirmed information by Cyanide.

Okay, well, can't argue with that. Puzzles me how guys like Chavanel, Casar among others consistently seem to do better in stage races than their other stats suggest.

And the nationality bonus which seem somewhat extreme for the French riders Pfft

Seriously?!

I think that the res-stat contributes to hanging on with a stronger field. I got a 4th and 7th with 74MO, 75hill 79TT, 74REC 85 RES, (a good fighter) in the Giro. But that's on PCM09...

Seriously in the sense that yes, a nationality bonus is applied, meaning that French riders perform better in French races. Same for Spanish riders / races, and any other nationality.

I assume that can be eliminated via a database edit? But, regardless, too bad that can't be "turned off" via the Options menu. Especially for the grand tours and monuments, I don't think something like that would come into play when you are talking about the A races for the big favorites.

Is it possible to edit that with the advanced editor?

CrueTrue
As far as I remember, there isn't, but there's a chance that I'm wrong. Never really looked into it.

Can someone explain the "Green moments" or post a link to this? Is it something from 09? I skipped 09 and am still playing 08.
Yeah, ditto

CrueTrue
Sometimes, the rider panel will flash green. When this happens, the rider can attack for a longer period of time.

"Green moments" happen in PCM08 as well.
