Just a heads up: This might be real noob question.
This is the situation: I created a stage starting "from nothing" in the stage editor. Pretty much managed to to everything and the stage is finished. The only thing is that the error manager keeps bugging me for a starting and finish line. I already added waypoints from start to finish but didn't manage to find out how i can modify road to a start/finish line. Could anyone explain to me how this is done? thanks in advance. |

If I understand you right, you created all the roads and put waypoints in every street point.
Then you have to create start and finish lines manually. They are under "route -> sprint"
Then on the right you can add these in 3D Mode. |

I have one additional question:
The stage is now done and errorless. I have a zcts, cds and a zces file, where i presumably put the cds and zces files in the CM_Stages folder. Problem is, they took out the part where you select a track without it being in a tour/classic, and also the option of creating a custom tour.
So i've tried adding a course through the database editor, but it explicitly asks me for a xml file, while other original courses (such as sansebastian) seem to have no xml file, only a cds and/or zces file. So i was wondering if anyone can explain me how i adjust files/settings so that i can actually play the race

On a scale of 1 to 10, how 'easy' is it to put a stage together then? |

I'd say about 6, it takes a while to get the hang of it, especially with gradients and stuff, but now that i know what I have to do its pretty easy! I'd also recommend using coordinates rather than building mountains and stuff from scratch! |

Yeah once you're used to it its kind of straight forward! It doesn't seem to be able to work out water though (sea, rivers or lakes) from the coordinates which is a shame.. |

Hopefully it's easy and fast to produce stages
Because this PCM has no variants. No variants......the horror......THE HORROR

To make stages:
Flat - Simple, really really simple
Mountains - Takes some learning.
Getting into the game - uhhh... I'll get back to you on that.

When you've began to learn the editor it's 10. Bit complicated in the beginning. But when you have learned how it works it's very simple. Much much easier than the old one, that could be very difficult.
And yes, just stupid to take away the "Custom Tour"-function.

Hey i have a problem with the stage editor,
When i load a gpx file it gives me this error:
Assertion failed!
Program:....
File:e:\cm10\dev\cm\common\cm3d\dev\cm3d\src....\CTDem.cpp
Line: 741
Expression 0
press retry to debug the application - JIT must be enabled

There's no coordinates for all parts of the world yet. When trying to load a gpx-file from outside the 'coordinates area', you will get an error. |

I think it's because you are trying to load coordinates for a place that doesn't have dem-files. For the time being you can only make for Central and South Europe + some other places.
Edit: Too late.

Pretty weird tough, since there definitely were more people capable to make stages.

I'd say about a 7, maybe a 6ish or 5ish for someone who's not experienced with computers. Making a stage is quite easy, it's just that there's nothing in the manual and searching for accurate guides on forums/sites is sometimes hard. Therefor some things such as departs/finishes are hard to find for a starter (apparently they were under route>sprint).
Also it takes a minute or 5 to get used to the Advanced Editor, but i work quite often with databases and sql servers so i didn't take too long for me personally All in all it took me about 20-30 minutes per stage in my first day and i was able to create some nice stages already Just need to work on the scenery a bit..

One recomendation Insane.
Try to make the map more big, because if you make a map like your photos, is easy to see the end of the world, and it in the game look so ugly.
Using Ctrl+F you can enable the FOG, and see how far the distance is long |
