Got advert on DL today, and as an old cymfox since cym1, i felt a sudden need to buy the pig in the sack but..
However, as i did just that with cym09 and cym08 i felt pretty framed with fact there was no real indept change in the career mode (theyve moved around some stats, changed place of buttons etc but the AI were as always like a robot, also cheating (more or less))..
So.. first thing i noticed was the completely lack of info at FOCUS page about the games content, whats new etc, its just some flashy movies of in game graphics of ongoing races, which in turn, (in my opinion) looks pretty much the same as earlier exept for some bloom effects etc, yet i immediately noticed the cycklist-toons are the very same as prev 2 years.
Moreover, and for me the most vital part of the game, the MANAGEMENT part, CAREER mode. Not a word about new stuff or anything. Not even a screenshot from a single in-game meny?! I played 09 to teh bone, and i do not wish to play the same game again with etter trees and road graphics, (you will get tired of that sensation after 15 mins anyways)
Therefore i have to rely on you fellow Danes here which a feel are more honest and reliable than focus own page, where they just try to lure people of blind-order it. The price tag for a DL is now 50eu, so its not a cheap game either.
My question is to you old foxes if you could let me know more specific whats added/removed from the game? Any knowabouts of the AI development? Anything?

Probably can't resist buying it, but there must atleast be some sort of change in the game part from graphics or ill have to turn evil and find alternate roads.. hehe

-Better Graphics
-New stage editor
and now the emergance of the prologue stat.

Ok, thanks doddy13! I will stay around for further in-game reports and independant reviews. Those i nowdays entirely depend upon regardless of what game i buy, they tend to tell the truth!

It was also mentioned that breakaways would have a higher chance of staying away.

with the leaked copy, news is coming out fast. And on Thursday i have no doubt people will be telling their opinions on this forum. Why listen to professional reviews whilst the (usually critical) fans will post their opinions

I feel the same way.
'08 and '09 are basically the same game with very minor changes. '10 looks as if it isn't going to be all that different at this stage.
We shall see though. |

In my opinion PCM09 is way better than PCM08. Small changes, but feels more stabil and it's 100 times better to play online.

I do no agree with the saying that the only new feature is the graphics. I do agree that the new features in PCM10 are 'small' improvements, yet somehow, they are difficult to live without now.
For example, there's now rider and race statistics and records / trophies. Something that I have personally wanted for a long time. There's also a new detailed simulation mode.
More importantly - something which you also ask for in your 1st post - there's always AI improvements from year to year. Officially, not much has been said about this, but one of the few things we know is that breakaways now are more likely to make it to the finish (at least that's what they said that they were working on).

I'm looking forward to the weather changes during the stage.
A sudden rainstorm in a crucial part of a race should prove to be a nice challenge, as the wind will also affect riders more.
If offense is the best defence, does it mean that defence is the worst defence?

I thougt i read somewhere, that you would be able to plan the whole season in a better way, a little like the season planner for pcm 09 but in game. Does anyone knows if thats true? |
