Hey!
I'm playing on easy with a custom team. Been doing great (obviously, when on easy) the first season. Top10 in superprestige and by far the best in continential (going pro next season). Havn't done any CTTs at all. Still, you would think that - in the game - a rider like A. Schleck would be interested.. but na ah! So, I'm stuck!
I don't even get the chance to offer him a contract. In the "contact" screen, he instantly says he's not interested.. and that's a no go! I really want this guy for the next season.
Is there a way for me to edit his "intrest" in the DB editor?
Thanks in advance!
- crz
Btw.. it's the same for almost any rider, currently with a "pro" team. No one wants me |

On the first year it's always difficult, at least because you don't have a lot of funds to pay others cyclists after you deal a contract with a big one.
But usually I reach to get some nice riders anyway (Barredo, Langeveld, EBH, Visconti, Chavanel... etc).
You can do it with Hannes Converter, but if you're motivated enough, try to sign a good rider who's not a top one, and wait a year |

Well, I started playing at the same time - with the same conditions - as a mate. And he was able to offer a guy like Schleck a contract for the next season. Though he didn't manage to promote his team to "pro"!
Now, that just seems random, and I don't like random
"You can do it with Hannes Converter".. you know where?
Thanks alot for your reply! |

Signing a rider depends on a lot of conditions if I'm not mistaken by what I've seen in database: there's nationalism, ambition, salary, races you took or will take part... and probably others I didn't understand (please someone correct me if I'm totally wrong).
I haven't already done a lot of changes with Hannes Converter (you can find it in the download section). It's not that easy to use, but since I've done it, I guess everybody is able to do so.
If I remember well, you can edit the contract of A.Schleck in DYN_Contract_Cyclist. You'll have to change his salary, his team, his status and so... |

Ah, I see. Well if I take all those conditions into consideration, there's probably a few causing it then. My mate and I have run the first season very differently. For starters, he ran ALOT of CTTs.. but again, obviously didn't promote.
He offered A. Schleck a contract for the following season, which Andy approved of. Though when he didn't promote, Andy rejected the contract, haha. I started ranting and laughed hillariously.. untill I found out that Andy didn't even bother to look at MY offer. That's nemesis for ya !
I use the Advanced Editor, and have been for some time, so I would be able to make the change.. if I knew where to edit it.
Your solution is my backup.. I'm just gonna edit Andy onto the team at the end of the season if I'm not able to edit his intrest by then.
Still.. anyone know how to edit a riders intrest?
Thanks alot Lorkan. |

I think you can find these parameters in DYN_Cyclist, but it was a bit obscure to me.
You're welcome |

Most parameters are in DYN_team (like region or country of origin of new riders) |

Oh, so many trials and errors. Been through alot in both DYN_contract_cyclist, DYN_cyclist and DYN_team.. I'm on the verge of giving up!
Lachi, for me it makes more sence that the parameters for A. Schleck joining my team is in DYN_cyclist, than in DYN_team. DYN_team would change the team, whereas I only want to change Andys "requirements".
How can it be this difficult? I'm thinking.. it seems so simple.. to just tell Andy stop being a morron and look at an offer |

When I'll have time, I can give a look at it, but I have an exam tomorrow, and two more next week, so it wouldn't be before 19th or 20th... |

Thanks alot Lorkan, I appreciate it. Hopefully I've found a solution before then.
I wanna avoid just adding him on to the team, for as long as I can. I still want it to be realistic, and I still want him to have the chance to refuse the offer.. and I'll accept whatever he replys.
But simply refusing to LOOK at an offer, is absolutely ridiculous |

Send me you save, and tell what the name of the team is, and I'll fix it.
EDIT: Didn't see your last post..

You probably didn't see alot of the posts in this tread
As I've mentioned several times, I'm not interested in adding him on to the team using an editor. And I would be able to do it myself if so.
Thanks anyways Pazflor. |

It does not look very realistic to me either...
You are a just promoted team (even if you win everything), no top 5 rider will make that move....
Spoiler Evans is just crazy... |

No offence but - though I agree to some extend - what you find realistic is pretty much irrelevant. People adding 1.000.000 to their salary cap is plain stupid.. me wanting Andy to open the envelope is not that big a stretch.
EDIT: Still need some help..

There is no rider stat called "do what i want". You can only edit parameters the game is using. If a parameter is team related then you have to edit it there.
There are parameters in DYN_cyclist which can be twisted to make Andy accept your offer. But if you change them he would become a normal rider (like the ones who accept your offer) and I guess that you rather want to have a good rider, not any rider with the name of A. Schleck.
Finally: You don't want to edit him into the DB but you want to edit the DB so that he does not refuse your offer. Think about it.... |

If you donĀ“t want to hear other opinions than yours, why do you ask for help in a FORUM saying that you want to change something to make it more realistic?
At the end you know you are cheating, which is ok with me if that is how you want to play. If that is the case just edit the DB as everybody told you, what is the difference between saying no before seen the offer or after?
Do you think Contador will negotiate with Amstrong team?
He will just throw the letter away an maybe even hit the postman.... |

Really? I think you misunderstood my sence of humor
If a parameter is team related then you have to edit it there.
How is it team related? I want Andy to be less demanding.. So the solution is to edit the team parameters to fulfill "Andy and co.-like" demands?
There are parameters in DYN_cyclist which can be twisted to make Andy accept your offer. But if you change them he would become a normal rider (like the ones who accept your offer) and I guess that you rather want to have a good rider, not any rider with the name of A. Schleck.
I doubt this very much. How am I making Andy any worse by changing his demands? I'm not touching his stats, potentiel, limitations etc.
Finally: You don't want to edit him into the DB but you want to edit the DB so that he does not refuse your offer. Think about it....
Huh? That's excactly what I'm doing. I'm never editing him INTO the DB. |

for top riders, either wait until you are by far and away clear (and are guarenteed promotion)
or go for a non top name rider (like Kirchen was willing to join me - not a top name, but finished top 10 in the TDF a few years back)
or if you're willing to wait a year, then get some riders with high climbing/flat stats (Augustyn, Fuglsang, EBH, Vandborg etc) |
