Gustav Larsson, David Abal and Gutierrez Palacios are the main favorites to take the win in this 6 kilometers prologue of Mount Hood. The time gaps won't probably be decisive for the final GC but we might find out who's got the power to win this race
There aren't many real TT specialists at the start even though there's also a TTT in this race, so Francisco Perez had no problems taking the lead halfway trough the startlist with a time of 6 minutes and 36 seconds
Manuel Lloret another GC favorite beat Sanchez' time with only one second and took the provisional lead with still the main favorites to go
The Swede Champion, Gustav Larsson didn't have a great ride but he did enough to change the leader one more time by taking the lead from Lloret for 5 seconds
But the Ikea rider couldn't enjoy that lead for too long as David Abal came with a great time of 6 minutes and 26 seconds to become the new leader of the stage
The Telenor leader, Thomas Rogregger took a nice start losing just 7 seconds to Abal and taking a provisional third place
On paper, Gutierrez Palacios was one of the main favorites today but he had a rather disappointing ride and lost 12 seconds to David Abal, who won the stage and become the first leader of the race
