College Database!!!
roozterblue
I am willing to pay for a college database of certain teams. A Yale kit will be the starting point. Please get back to me if interested.

A Yale cycling team? huh?

You've made me confused.

Yes Yale! Many Ivy schools have very well funded cycling clubs, and most of the schools that are good at cycling already have there kits posted online. Schools like Marion University and Lindsey Wilson who offer cycling scholarships would need to be the cycling powerhouses in the game.

So you want a Yale school team to compete in the official UCI races? Sounds very strange to me?

I would want a complete college database to play in the races. The riders can have the same names and countries but the kits and team names would be different. I think it would be fun. College cycling is becoming big at some schools. Also, Harvard sux, remember harvard said it them selves a few years ago.

OK, an idea for this, how about universities from all over the world (Ivy League Oxbridge) and famous people who've beento these places.

If you only want to change the team names, just do it. It is as easy as ABC. After you have done that, you might find some dudes who create the shirts for you, especially if you provide the logos and are willing to pay for it.

This database can only be a succes when the TU Delft is included
I can make a jersey if you want.

I'm guessing this is the jersey the Yale Team uses:

Yes, that is the kit from this year. If anyone wants to create a team file or/and shirt for there favorite school feel free. I will be in need of teams to cover the about 80 teams in a data base.

If there were a college database, I would see no reason to ever include Yale. Their cycling team is not one of the best nationally and teams like Lees-McRae, Fort Lewis, Marian, and CU Boulder that actually have successful programs should take precedent. I would enjoy such a database but it should be tailored to US collegiate cycling as a whole, not just schools that users go to and would like to race as.

For the Europeans who do not understand, after 12 years of public schooling, American young adults often attend colleges or universities to play for a specific sport. Cycling, which is not sanctioned by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is not very popular nationwide but nevertheless has somewhat of a following. From what I understand from the first post, roozter would like to create an all-college database in which to play the races on the National collegiate calendar.

If this were to come to anything (which is not very likely due to the small amount of Americans who play this game), research on top teams, their kits, and national collegiate races. I can see this maybe in PCM10 but not now. I would be willing to help aid in the research if one of the better database makers would be interested.
