okay so im no cycling buff, mainly started following the tour de france and have grown my interest in the sport.
i like this game alot but dont feel i get full value out of it.
i mainly like playing stage races with a gc contender, have won lots on the normal setting as its pretty easy.
the thing is when i start a career (usually with BMC or Radioshack) i get bored of all the little races and usually sim or de register for them. so simming races barely gets you a decent result, which in turn i find my budget crawling into the red meaning im broke. whats the key to keeping interest in the little classics as atm i dont give a toss about them. |

Well when you play with a big team like BMC or the shack, those little races may seem meaningless. They are both useless and useful. Your sponsors for example wont care if you win or get good results. The good thing about those little races though are using them to gain form. Enter a rider who needs to build up form for an upcoming race and it will really help. |

the form bit makes sense. i guess its mainly the flat stages that bore me, as i dont get a thrill from sprinting....yet
also im not too familiar with classics, but what are good tactics for them, like the leige - bastogne3 |

usually in classics like LBL, I just follow Schleck or the other big leaders when they attack in the finish. When you begin I guess it's the best tactic you can do |

I usually just try to stay towards the front and with the favorites. Try to mark them. Im not good at classics though. I always seem to catch a bad break or two |

MAke a train with 10-11 km left on a flat stage. Put your best flat rider on the dot at 99 and then your 2nd best sprinter following him (with the little arrow and the S. Right or left click (can't remember) on the rider you want to follow.) Which in this case is your best flat rider who is on the dot at 99. Now make your best sprinter follow the 2nd best sprinter. Start the train and which the victories come.
Quick synopsis of what the trian's order should be
- Best flat rider
- 2nd best Sprinter on the squad (This is the renshaw's of the cycling world)
- Main Sprinter (Farrar, Cav, Bennati)

Its rather fun once you get good at it. Although it doesn't have to epic history in the making feel to it its still fun. The close sprints. Coming up from behind and just barely holding on. Thats the reason I do sprints anyway.

which tactic do you use on short uphill finishes in stages that are considered flat (e.g. 2nd stage of Tour Down Under)? |

Otherwise there were edited files in the german forum. Then all the simulating races are more realistic. It changed that sprinters will fight for the win, if there is a small hill in the end. With the original files there was always a hillrider winning and a lot of time gaps happend.
Maybe anyone knows where to find these files.

Rabobank has very good flat riders who are ideal for setting a train, like Boom,Posthuma,Langeveld, just make sure the riders has good fitness in important races
Go Roman!
