Ok, so I see PPDB Europe 2006 has been released.
For those of you who've downloaded it and are using it, what's it like?
The reason I ask is that I'm using PCM Spain at the minute which is a great DB and a good size in terms of teams and stuff.
So the question I'm really asking is, is it worth 'upgrading'? |

Well, personally, I like the PCM Spain DB a lot too - but I must admit that the PPDB has quite a lot extra details which the PCM Spain DB doesn't have - f.e. totally new races, lots of new free agents - and more teams. I can easily live without the new teams (I won't use them anyway), but the races are an exciting addition.
I won't upgrade now, though. I'm waiting for the 2007 DB. |

If you don't care about the new teams and want a 2007 DB, why not use the beta version of PPDB2007? |

issoisso: Because - as you say yourself - it's a beta. It's not anywhere near done, so currently, the RSM News DB 2007 is the best choice for me. |

Your feelings are similar to mine CrueTrue.
Do you have any idea whether the PCM Spain guys will be releasing an 07 version of their DB?

I don't think they will. The reason why they released a DB was most probably that PPDB had announced they wouldn't make databases for PCM2. They do now, and because of that they don't feel like there's a need for their databases. |

Yes. Are any of you guys able to speak or read Spanish and able to give an update?
They seem to be well on their way with an '07 DB.

yes, i've used it since the day after realese
its a good db, extremely good gameplay(only bad thing was that i think vino deserves better than 81 in MO, and ulle 80, and hushovd has 80 in sprint), looks like the same teams as pcm spain, but extremely many more races, each month is ca. 3-5 times as big, as the original game
so if you like to have lots of choises, many rces and dont sim true the whole season, its a fantastic db!!
if you want to sim all the time, LG or PCM Spain is better, if you want a 2007 db, rsm is much better, the beta you get with it is far away from finished

Thanks BOC.
So, basically even though it's Beta, you haven't had too many probs with it?
For me, the Spain DB is the perfect size as I play all the Pro Tour races and sim a lot of the second tier races. So, I'm undecided at the moment... |

ok, if you just sim everything not PT, pcm spain is currently a just as good 2006 db, wait for the final version, if you dont need more races
