I can't believe i've just discovered this brilliant game! Anyway, i'm very excited about the 1991 db but can't work out why it freezes and then crashes the game at the very start. Any suggestions would be very welcome.
I installed the db as per instructions in another thread: I opened the .rar file. Then opened the folder inside the .rar file. I extracted all the folders to Program Files/Cyanide/PCM.
Then I opened Database & Local.rar. I extracted Database - Pack 1991.cdb to My Documents/PCM/Database and Local.cdb to My Documents/PCM.
When I start the game the 1991 db appears as an option to play - so far quite promising. But at the race selection screen clicking on something freezes the game. A further click quits. If I don't select a race but just click OK I get the team selection screen - the freeze/quitting happens when I select something here instead.
Sorry for the long winded post - Has anyone had this problem and managed to solve it? I've tried reinstalling the db a number of times and get the same result every time.

I hope you did not extract it in that folder but in the existing PCM folder, which might be called different depending on your OS and the settings during the installation process of the game. |

After the crash, could you please open your ProCyclingManager.log file (with Notepad - the file can be found in My Docs/PCM) and paste in the last 10 lines of it here?
Thanks. |

Thanks for the reply. Here are the last 10 lines from the log:
(0000): +- DisplayPage(5) : Wizard
(0000): |
(0000): | CloseAllDialog
(0000): |
(0000): +- DisplayPage : Done
(0000):
(0000):
(0000): +- DisplaySubPage(38) : DO_NOT_TRANSLATE_SubPage_Wizard_InfoEtape
(0000): |
../../Sources/StageBuilder\StageData.cpp(7136): | loading ./CM_Stages/1991_gt_tourfrance_17.xml
I get a Run Time error when it crashes. I'm usually a Mac person so quite lost in this PC reality. |

Can you please check that you have a file called 1991_gt_tourfrance_17.xml in Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2009\CM_Stages? |

Not quite. It's in Program Files\Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2009\Pack 1991\CM_Stages
In addition to CM_Stages within the Pack 1991 folder are the following folders: Blocs, CM_Meshes, CM_Textures, Classifications and Gui. |

There's your solution. Move all the files and folders from \Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2009\Pack 1991\ to \Cyanide\Pro Cycling Manager - Season 2009, and it should work. |

Brilliant! Thank you so much. I did a quick test start of a classic and all seems OK. At first glimpse it really is a beautiful piece of work. I'm sure i'll get the hang of interacting with the PC eventually. A Mac is far easier to use, but that's probably because the options to get in and make changes are more limited.
Thanks again. DC |
