This is my first PCM game and I've just started the career mode...created my own team!
What is the single most important thing to do before the first race? more trainers? better trainers? pre-season training?
Just looking for a few pointers please!

I would set training schedules to ensure your riders are peaking for your goals, also picking secondary sponsors has to be done in January.

Download the season planner on this website, it allows you to set up custom training schedules, and set up you riders race so you know how many they are going to race for the year, (try and set the whole season schedule in advance and make sure our sponsor goals get the most focus because that is what is goiing to get you more money for the next season.) Hope that helps.

Even if I am the creator of the season planner, I would not suggest getting it until you know the game.
But I have some other suggestions. I think it is better to start with an existing Pro Team. You don't even have to start a career but could race the Tour de France with a team of your liking to get to know the fun part of the game.
Then you could start a career with one of the bigger teams. Normally you dont have to bother for training schedules with these teams just participate in the races the game has selected for you. One additional advantage of racing pro tour races is that most of these races load faster.
BTW: Trainers and Scouts are only important if you are playing more then one season I would not count on that with your first team. |

this is what i do first..
1st go to your squad and traing page, look at their potentials and attributes and decide and change what you want them to train in for the season (climber, stage races etc..)
Once this is set for all your riders then hire trainers, hire guys who are good at 2 or 3 attributes, that way they can train 6-8 riders.
Then set each riders schedule/season plan
Once this is done then i don't worry about all this till next season.
Also dont bother with early training camps, the PC teams dont use it and you will find they tend to use poor riders early in the season so you will have an advantage anyway. |
