The 100% Me continental team are continuing on a high into 2011, and are rejoined by Procycling as a sponsor, the company who were the team's main sponsor back in 2009.
The team took a brilliant 3rd in the Continental standings this season, and will again be looking for a Top 10 placing - as well as the all important British races. This is understandably represented in our team's sponsor goals.

The 100% Me team will be looking to take the continental sprints by storm this year - and attempt to improve on last year's already great performances.
Leading the way is our team leader Ben Swift, who really broke through last season. His 2009 performance heralded just 2 second places, and 4 third places - but last year he was emphatic. 7 stage wins, 4 further podium stage placings, GC victory in the Circuit Franco-Belge, 2nd overall in both the Tour of Ireland and Bikeline 2-Day, and in the classics, 2nd in GP d'Isbergues and 3rd in Fyen Rundt . And this year? He is better still, and has his eyes on taking a victory in one of the year's flat classics.

Next up is Peter Kennaugh, who is now with us permanently after being on loan to us last year. Like Swift, 2010 was Kennaugh's breakthrough as he also took his first victories. It was 3 victories for him in total, all stage wins, with 4 second place stage placings, and 3rd in the Down Under Classic. Not bad for a rider who previously had only made Top 10 placings in the Tour de l'Avenir. Like Swift, this season could be his best yet - and is greatly anticipating the challenge - as well as welcoming his brother to Professional cycling (Tim Kennaugh will be riding for Pendleton's Twicer)

Finallly, our big signing of the year. None other than Kennaugh's fellow Manxman Mark Cavendish! He has been riding a GrandTour heavy schedule for the past couple of seasons, and is here for a fresh challenge - but he does so having earnt the privilege of winning a stage in every Grand Tour! In 2009, he won a Giro stage and a first Tour de France stage, while last year he won the final stage in both the Vuelta and the Tour de France - the famed Champs Elysses stage. Cavendish hopes a move to the continental scene will herald much more victories per season, and there would have been nowhere better for him than here.

Hassen ben Nasser has left the team, but we have maintained a strong 3-pronged attack on the hills, with 2 Irishmen and a Brit.
Cousins Nicholas Roche and Daniel Martin did not have much to shout about in 2008, or 2007 either for Roche, bar the Irish Championships where they took a 1-2. Linked together at our team in 2009, they have since rode very similar race schedules - and the results have come. That year they both finished just inside the Top 100 of the continental standings. Roche had consistency, and a 2nd in the Archer GP, while Dan Martin took his first win - a stage of Langkawi - and a great 2nd in the FBD Insurance Ras. Both improved last year, atlhough again it was Martin with the more stand out results. A brilliant GC victory in the HC World's View Challenge and also victory in the Irish Championships. Roche did take his first win for the team, a stage of the FBD Insurance Ras on his way to 5th in GC there, he also came heartbrakingly close in the Gp of Wales - caught on the line to take 3rd, while Martin finished just ahead in 2nd. They again finished togther with 3rd/4th in the Tour of Pendle - Roche edging it this time. For 2010, expect their schedules again to be fairly similar, with each continuing to attempt to be the best in the family, as well as the peloton as a whole.

The 3rd part in our climbing team is Briton Chris Froome. The former Kenyan has been training hard over the winter, looking to put the relatively dissapointing 2010 behind him - hoping 2011 can bring back memories of his great 2009. Ranked the 32nd best continental rider that year, he put in a brilliant performance to win the 3 Lander Tour - having dominated and won the first 2 stages. Last year, his only victory as such, was a KoM win in the Tour du Luxembourg - although he did ride will in the Canadian race, Tour de Beauce.

Adam Blythe is looking to step up this season and become the number 1 cobbles rider in the continental tour. But most importantly, he is after a victory. Three 2nd places last year - 2 in the cobbles races, but also missing out on a sprint in the Tour of Belgium by millimetres. Overall his cobbles performances were promising, including a 5th in Paris-Roubaix, and while the ProTour may beckon in future, this year is all about CT.

Joining Blythe this year is also Geraint Thomas, as the pair look to form a very strong cobbles team. After 2 years in the ProTour, he moved to British Airways in 2009 and performed well. Victory in GP Herning, plus 2nd in Het Volk, 3rd in E3 Prijs and a personal best 8th while riding Paris-Roubaix - with his team having received a wildcard. But last season Thomas was dissapointing, afer British Airways stepped up to the ProTour. A 10th in Gent-Wevelgem but down in 16th for Roubaix, and even worse in RVV. The Welshman is hoping a return to the continental tour will help return him to his best.

Nicholas Roche led an encouraging start to the season for 100% Me in Africa. Leading into the final kilometre in the Bloemfontein Classic, Roche ultimately faded to 7th position, with fellow Irishman Dan Martin also finishing in the font group. Chris Froome was aggressive, but at the wrong moments, so had to settle for only 27th, while Welshman Dale Applebly also showed promise, attacking from the peloton late on, on his way to 34th.
On to La Tropicale Amissa Bongo, and Roche's form continued, as along with Chris Froome, he made the front group on the decisive hilly Stage 3, with both picking up some bonus second that took them to 7th and 8th overall respectively. Perhaps the most impressive rider for us in Gabon was Daniel Lloyd though. Our top finisher in Stage 1, he picked up some bonus seconds while in the Stage 2 break, and then on Stage 4 he came oh so close to a first victory in 3 years, taking 2nd place in the bunch sprint - more bonus seconds to take him to 14th overall. With 3rd in Stage 2, Wes Sulzberger also prepared for his Tour Down Under defense with a Top 20 overall, as we took the teams classification.
The dissapointment however, were the sprints of Peter Kennaugh. Lead out man Simon Gaywood failed to deliver, and struggling to find form early on in the season, Kennaugh could only take positions of 9th, 11st, 21st and 41st. He now heads to Australia, hoping for a strong showing, alongside fellow Manxman Mark Cavendish.
Mark Cavendish picked the right moments to shine in his season-opening trip to Australia, to come away with 196 ranking points, and the team's first victory of the season. In the Down Under Classic, he was 1 wheel too far back in the train, as he took a 2nd place behind Allan Davis, but responded immediately to take a brilliant victory on the opening stage of the Tour Down Under. And although unable to really feature again in the sprints - a 6th and a 10th in 2 later stages - a battling performance over Willunga kept him in touch to benefit from a split peloton on the final stage, and claim a great 7th overall.
Elsewhere in the Down Under Classic, Kennaugh continued a forgettable season opening as he only managed 11th, but Russell Downing featured in the break and scored some ranking points with 18th. A 27th place for Sam Bennett also showed some promise for the future, from the Irishman.
His Irish compatriots did not have much luck in the Tour Down Under however, as both Roche and Martin crashed on the decisive Willunga stage. Roche at the worst possible moment, before the first Willunga ascent, Martin in the chaos following the 2nd Willunga ascent, while supporting Cavendish. Chris Froome also suffered horrible luck, crashing at the same point as Nicholas Roche. Rather than chase on in vain, Froome opted to abandon the race straight off - to ensure recovery ahead of the Tour of Wellington, where he leads the team.
The Tour Down Under could also be said to be a frustrating time for defending champion Wes Sulzberger. Aggressive throughout, and a 5th in one stage, things just did not work out for him this year, as they had done in 2010.
Next: Chris Froome and Ben Swift head our Tour of Wellington team, while like Swift, Ian Stannard makes his season debut - with his eyes on the race's time trial. Wes Sulzberger, and neo-pros Sam Bennett and Kiwi Jesse Sergent will join Froome in making the transition from Australia, while Joseph Perrett will mark his professional debut.

After two years of frontline cycling sponsorship, 100% Me have withdrawn their sponsorship - but a new British sposor has immediately stepped up. The team has already ridden on Condor bikes this year, and will be the men in black for next season - riding as the Rapha Condor team.
Chris Froome, Andy Tennant, and Adam Blythe are seen as 3 key riders within the team, as well as the likes of Ian Stannard, Alex Dowsett and Dale Appleby. The team currently houses 3 superstar British sprinters in Ben Swift, Mark Cavendish and Peter Kennaugh. Their future is yet to be confirmed, as the team hopes to take a more adventurous race schedule - and not simply focus on the flatter terrain.
What is known however is there will be a slight shift in focus in the make up of the team. Our Irish connection will be dropped, and both Nicolas Roche and Dan Martin are set to leave the team - the pair will continue to work with the 100% Me sponsor over the winter, and expect to return to new teams in 2012 stronger than ever. The British core will of course remain, but the Commonwealth element is likely to expand from the current duo of Jesse Sergent and Wes Sulzberger.
New 2012 sponsor announced, as Blythe, Thomas, Stannard prepare for African season finale
Britons Adam Blythe, Geraint Thomas and Ian Stannard flew out to Burkina Faso a few days ago to begin their preparation for the upcoming Tour du Faso - their final race of the season. Last year the team won the TTT thanks to Wiggins, and Blythe took 9th overall (with Andrew Fenn taking a surprise 4th in GC, and Peter Kennaugh podiumned in 3 sprint stages). This year Ian Stannard will look to pilot the team in the short opening TTT while Adam Blythe rides as undisputed team leader - hoping to mix it with the sprinters for the early part of the race, before striking on the cobbles of Stage 7.
Aswell as training though, all 3 riders have been undergoing newfound sponsor obligations, with the announcement of a co-sponsor for the team in 2012. Rapha Condor have already been announced, but the team won't just be known as Rapha Condor, but Rapha Condor - Qhubeka. The African sponsor joins the team, who become a British-African outfit. The team leaders are likely to remain British, including the likes of Blythe, Stannard and Thomas, but a number of talented Africans will also be targeted - for instance the likes of Gabon's Anguilet and Kenya's Kiprotich, who impressed in the recent U23 series - Kiprotich inparticular is said to be keen to ride alongside Kenyan-born Chris Froome. A few members of the team management will therefore stay in the continent to witness the African Championships to scout out potential targets, while the majority fly home - with Swift, Cavendish and Kennaugh all targeting the British Road Race championships, and Stannard hoping to break David Millar's 3 year streak in the time trial.
