hey guys. i've decided to try to run the racing championships again this year with a few tweaks. i've decided to start it's own thread because last year it got a bit drowned out in the racing thread and people who joined later weren't aware of the competition. i've decided also to give points down to 10th place this year to allow more people to claim points as last season only about 5 people managed to score.
i've also decided to drop track racing from the competition because there are simply that many different forms of track racing that it'd too easy to score pointsm, and too complicated to keep track.
races that count are rr, tt, cyclo cross and mountain biking. as last year all races have to be official races run by official bodies. in britain that would be british cycling, lvrc or the time trial association. also like last year all results have to be proven by the official results being posted onto the thread. results that can't be proven won't be counted.
if any one has any questions about the competition or things that they think need to be changed then feel free to ask or suggest.
CAN YOU PLEASE KEEP SPAM ON THIS THREAD TO A MINIMUM. DISCUSSION OF THE COMP OR POSTING OF RESULTS ONLY.
any discussions on your racing itself can be posted on the your racing thread. i just want to avoid the comp getting drowned out by other discussions like last year.
good luck everyone. |

SCORING SYSTEM
as i mentioned earlier i will award points down to 10th this season.
1 = 20
2 = 15
3 = 10
4 = 8
5 = 6
6 = 5
7 = 4
8 = 3
9 = 2
10 = 1
this way more people will score and hopefully make for a more exciting and high scoring season. i will update the points table as often as i can and keep it on this post so that everyone can keep an eye on their progress.
IF ANYONE HAS ANY POINTS THEY'D LIKE TO CLAIM FROM 1/1/2010 THEN POST YOUR RESULTS AND I'LL ADD YOU POINTS.
LEAGUE TABLE
1 - Tomzk111 - 16pts
2 - Ringo182 - 4pts
GOOD LUCK

Also, do club TT's count, or just open ones? |

only open ones tom. don't know what the quality of your club is like but i'm pretty sure you'd only have to turn up to garantee first place every week
congrats on claiming the first points of the tear, again. |

but generally it would be easy to score points in club tt's. My club runs 15 throughout the year. if i turned up to all 15 i could garantee myself a couple of hundred points. thats why i only count open events. |

I came 10th in a race on saturday. Probably the worst conditions i've ever raced in- pouring raining and quite strong winds. I was going pretty well, but I completely messed up with my tactics at the end and found myself sat on the front for the last 2 miles as no one would come through, then about 4 sprinted past me

picked up another 10th place this weekend just gone.
it's the first of the 2 4th cat races. could have finished higher if i didn't have to dodge the 2 blokes crashing in front of me.
in the second race i sat up after following the wheel of some guy who shot up to the front and then sat up trapping me behind him.
dissapointing day overall.
