Interestingly, although there are some strong teams the 3 favourites: Hagen Hushovd and Lovkvist have no support to speak of
Off we go
We have a break of 4: Westling, Nygren and Stillfors from Sweeden adn Kristoff from Norway
all the strong teams are represented so Sony and B&O have to do the work on the front
In a surprise move B&O's Hegreberg attacks up to the break then sits at the back as his other team mate chases
120km to go and the gap is 5 minutes
5 laps and 67 km to go and the gap is up to 7'20"
with 50km to go 9 minutes and the break won't be caught
Westling is a very strong sprinter while the two Norwegians both have a good kick. Nygren and Stillfors are trully dreadful and will need to finish solo to have any chance of victory
30km to go and Hegreberg still has done no work, he may well be freshest at the finish
however disaster for him as a puncture means he has no chance of competing for victory
20km to go and Stillfors and Nygren attack to avoid the sprint they will no doubt lose
Kristoff leads the chase and pulls them back, however in doing so he leaves the 2 Ikea riders behind
1 lap to go and they are together as Nygren attacks again
Again he can't get away but Stillfors is dropped
Under the 5km to go banner and the attacking has taken it's toll. Only 2 riders in it now
3km to go and Kristoff is leading out. Both riders will be national champions, it's just a case of this race
2.2km and the sprint starts
Westling jumps past
and he takes victory
Kristoff won't be too dissapointed with 2nd and the Norwegian championship.
Hegreberg amazingly comes back to 3rd ahead of Nygren and Stillfors
