2009 winner: Michael Blaudzun

Halfway through the race the pack split into 2 main groups. The strongest teams, Philips and B&O didn’t manage to put their strongest rider in the first group which meant that it will be an open race for the victory today. 13 riders that were in the leading group were: Ranneries, Sorensen, Jorgensen, Mortensen, Kaus, Ulrich, Vinter, Christensen, Stenkjær, Ostergaard, Vandborg, Riber-Sellebjerg, Fuglsang

50 kilometers before the finish, Fuglsang made what looked like a decisive attack. 5 kilometers later he was joined by Vandborg and together gain in 35 kilometers almost 7 minutes over the chasing group

Since the moment he joined Fuglsang in front, Vandborg always looked stronger than the Lego rider but he never managed to take the race on his own. Well, at least until the penultimate ascent of the day when Fuglsang cracked and Vandborg find himself alone in front

Brian Vanborg is the new Danish Champion! Last year he won the TT, this year the RR. Fuglsang took the second place, while behind them, Vinter won the sprint for the third place

2009 winner: Brian Vandborg

Lars Ytting Bak was the first starter from the favorite trio, Vandborg - Bak – Steensen. The Philips - Hummel rider had no problems taking the lead at all the intermediate checks and he finished the race with the time of 1 hour 9 minutes and 14 seconds

Steensen was next but the B&O rider was rather disappointing, finishing the race over one minute slower than Bak. Still it was enough for a provisional second place

Jørgensen had a nice ride and managed to beat his team – mate’s time with 30 seconds to take from him the second place. Bak seems to have a good chance to take the win now after he finished second last year

Vandborg looked like having a nice chance to retain his title but he was 23 slower than Bak. This means that in 2011 Lars Ytting Bak will be wearing the distinctive jersey!
