2009 winner: Dominique Rollin

Last year’s winner, Rollin has a nice chance to defend his title. Hesjedal or Meier seem to be the only names that could stop him. Two foreigners are also here to complete the starlits: Butterfield from Bermuda and Abraham from Trinidad Tobago

At the end of the third lap, Hesjedal got away from the rest of the pack. And with no team being able to chase behind him, this could be the winning move

One lap later, Pancake also got away from the pack but it was too late. Hesjedal had already made a gap of 5 minutes between him and his chasers

Ryder Hesjedal is the new Canadian Champion! Pancake took the second place, while the former champion, Rollin won the sprint in the pack to finish 3rd

2009 winner: Christian Meier

Dominique Rollin was an early starter and took the lead for an until with the time of 1 hour 7 minutes and 33 seconds

Hesjedal was the first rider that managed to beat him. The Domina rider, who just took the win in the road race, beat Rollin’s time with 14 seconds

The defending champion, Meier, had no problems beating Hesjedal’s time, being almost one minute faster than the previous leader

Butterfield, the Bermudan rider present here, had an amazing performance finishing 2nd, while the other foreigner, Abraham was again last, just like in the road race
