Eight countries are represented here, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Egypt, Gabon, Morocco, Namibia, South Africa and Tunisia
The favourites for this race are Ben Nasser, Craven and Augustyn but with eight jerseys up for grabs it's going to be a great race.
Off we go
120km to go and a break of 5 forms.
Tunisia: Chtioui
Morocco: Rhalli
South Africa: C.Van Heerden and Kannemeyer
Namibia: Hoffman
80km to go and their gap is up to 8'25"
70km and the gap is 10 minutes, one of these 5 will win the African Champs
50km and Augustyn, J. Van Heerden and Craven attack, but they have left it way to late, and none of them will win a jersey today
Kannemeyer and Chtioui attack
and are pulled back
So Chtioui goes again
under 10km to go and he has pulled out a small lead
it's an uphill sprint with Chtioui still clear
the two South Africans are sandwiching the break.
However the incline is to much for Kannemeyer and he falls off the back
600m and Chtioui is almost caught
300m to go and it's getting close
with 100m to go it's amazingly tight, who can dig the deepest?
Rhaili wins the African Championships and with the power he showed up the final hill I would be surprised if he wasn't snapped up next season.
Chtioui is Tunisian Champ in 2nd with Hoffman's third good enough to give him the Namibian Championship
Christoff Van Heerden is 4th ahead of Kannemeyer to claim the South African jersey.
J. Van Heerden is 6th with Craven 7th and Augustyn 8th
Janse Van Rensburg 9th, Hoffman 10th, Jellol 11th and Abdullahs 12th gives him the Egyptian jersey
Ben Nasser is 13th
Thomson 14tth
Hunter wins the peleton sprint
The first two Burkina Faso riders are next and neck through the finish and I can't tell who won
but right behind them Belmokhtar takes the Algerian Jersey
While the final jersey, Gabon's, was won by Obiang Essono with massavou struggling in the background
Oh and Sawodogo won over Sawadogo for the Burkina Faso jersey

The African TT championships
Van Nierkirk of South Africa sets the early time of 1h08'59"
then Freyer of Namibia beats him by 1 second
While Sawadogo leads for Burkina Faso +2'09"
before his brother who rides for AON takes that spot going +2"
Hafiz is the first Egyptian to finish and he gets +25"
The first Moroccan, Saadoune, goes 6th +49"
Ben Nasser is the first rider from Tunisia and he gets fifth 27 seconds back
Moussavou is Gabon's first, and 13th +1'18" is the best he can do
Hoffman takes 2nd +1" with the same time as Van Nierkerk
Difelice is the first Algerian 22nd +2'15"
now all the countries have a finished rider
Chtioui has been tearing up the course and he takes the lead by 2'21"
Thomson goes 2nd +1'58" and is now the leading South African
Augustyn takes that spot by going 1'02" back
before Perry beats him at +24"
Craven next and he goes +11" to get the Namibian lead
Belmokhtar takes the Algerian top spot +2'31"
Jelloul is now first for Morocco with +1'09"
Obiang Essono becomes a double national champion, and with his two compatriots currently in jobs he may find himself recruited in their place next year
There are no more changes so Chtioui is the African Champion and after being so close in the road race he has claimed victory today
