So here we are, the final race of the season, the Japan Cup

Early attacks never really got anywhere, before Keinath, Carrara and Kroon go clear with 90km to go

The 7 remain together, and are joined by Samuel Sanchez, with 7 other attackers closing in: Velits, Bellot, Hagen, LL Sanchez, Di Luca, Kern and Lloret. And the groups soon merge.

5km to go - still nothing from either Frank Schleck or Cunego. La Gazetta at least have Di Luca up front, Accumalux have noone. This is absolutely pathetic by the so-called favourite

Samuel Sanchez is 4th, but its very tight behind. Its Lloret then Rodriguez Oliver then Bakelandts, Hagen, Velits and Ulissi - that 10th place should secure 5th in the team rankings for Philips
