As you can see on the profile, today's stage might bring a surprise. It's more likely, though, that we'll see a mass sprint with Oscar Freire (Caisse d'Epargne) being the biggest favourite.
As always, a bunch of riders are trying their luck. It's Van Avaermaet (Predictor), Murn (Discovery) and Kuchinski (Liquigas) who's in E1 with Renshaw (Agricole) and Cortinovis (Milram) behind them. With 118 km to go the front group has a gap of 7'30 to the peloton.

By winning the two mountain sprints, Murn has secured himself the mountain jersey for tomorrow. But since he's only 4 seconds behind Wielinga, he can get the yellow jersey by winning one of the intermediate sprints. |

Murn is now in virtual yellow. And with 20 km to go, the group is caught. It's up to Petacchi, Freire and co..
