problem with pcm07 on windows vista

I have installed pcm07 on my computer with windows vista. But as soon as I try to launch the game, there's a problem, and it shuts down! PLEASE HELP ME!!
I have no idea what to do ! Any ideas ? |

no you're not. check this forum. there's a bucketload of similar threads.
Vista = boom with a lot of things. PCM especially.

It can be much other things than Vista. I have Vista Home Premium, and got no problems with PCM or other things.. |

But you have to agree that there are problems with so many things in Vista. Can happen with someone but not all.
Or he could not have installed the vcredist file.

I have the answer!!! For all those having problems running PCM in Vista:
1. Find PCM07.exe in Windows Explorer
2. Right-click the exe file and click "Properties"
3. Click the "Compatibility" tab
4. Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode" box.
5. Select "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)"
6. Apply
Et voila. PCM works in Windows Vista! |

Just now i´m playing PCM2007 on windows vista , with a graphic card that is on the black list to play this game. Intel X3100 256Mb shared memory.
I simple installed the game, applied the last patch, and applied the no_cd patch v1.0.
It´s working for the career mode, but for stage mode doesn´t work. It simply crash to desktop. |

Im on Vista, and it works for me. It just crashes every 2nd or 3rd game... or on a TDF mountain stage... I dont know why, so I just play a race at a time, and if I wanna do 2 in a row, I just shut it down and in 5 minutes ramp it up again.

I downloaded the game. I don't know what else I downloaded I just bought the CD off some guy on eBay and downloaded the game following the simple instructions. I might have ticked some boxes but I haven't a clue.

Well, sounds like you don't have the latest patch.
In the original game, there's a memory leak issue, meaning that the game uses a lot more RAM than it's supposed to, making the game crash after a few stages. This is fixed by patches. You need to download the latest one, patch 1.0.3.1, to fix the problem. It's available in the download section of this site. |
