Freire won yesterday but with so many good sprinters it will be pretty hard for him to do it again. Also it's raining out there and you never know what could happen
The first intermediate sprint of the day came only 20 kilometers after the started. No breakaway was made it and with had a battle between the sprinters for the points and bonification seconds. Swift won it in front of Abdallah and Stroetinga
After that the breakaway of the day was made. Just like yesterday we had 3 riders there, 2 of them being again from Ultimate and Ultra Adventure: Rizio and Boldbaatar, while this time the third one was from M&M: Klimiankou
Rizio won the second intermediate sprint of the day, while the third and the last one went to Boldbaatar
AON Global and Lego were the main chasers in second half of the race, after Nokia - Nike lead in the first half. And they managed to catch all the escapes before the last 20 km of the stage, which means that we are heading to an another mass sprint
NOS, Kenda and Molteni tried to make the their own trains but the best one to follow seemed to one made by Murray for Swift. Freire, Ciolek, Vaitkus and even Van Heerden followed Swift's wheel
But right before the sprint started, Haddou took the lead of the pack but none of his Kenda team - mates were behind him. Gardeyn, Barclay, Baumman and Kennaugh were the 4 riders that were following him
Inside the last kilometer, Gardeyn took the lead from Haddou. Swift stayed a little bit too much behind Murray and he looked like lost the fight, bringing the other sprinters in that trap
But an amazing acceleration, Swift managed to get really close to the Belgian with just 500 meters left from the stage. Freire, Kennaugh, Baumman, Ciolek and Vaitkus were also pretty close and they might interfere in the fight for the podium spots
With just 100 meters left it was a really tight situation for the first place, between Gardeyn and Swift, as well for the third place between Kennaugh and Freire
It was a really close finish but Swift got it in the end in front of Gardeyn and Kennaugh. 100% ME and Nokia - Nike dominated the sprint there, together getting the first 4 places in the race. With the bonifactions won for the first place and with those from the first intermediate sprint, Swift also becomes the new leader of the race
