The premise is simple. Its a team time trial - with 2 riders per team. Rankings points are shared between the two riders i.e. the winning team gets 80 pts, 40 per rider, and if a team gets an odd number of pts i.e. 5, the first rider over the line gets 3 pts, the other rider gets 2.
Wiggles team of Cummings and Cooper are first off. Their time is 1h16'19
Hoste and Sutherland of NVidia beat them by 1'14
BMC, Jacques-Maynes and Donald, go 2nd - 19 seconds behind Nvidia who must have put in a great ride to beat BMC by so much
Molteni, Vandenbroeck and Hruska, go 3rd - 28 seconds behind
The Control team will finish last - but with points down to 20th place, and only 14 other teams in it - they will score ranking pts!
IrnBru's Dempster and Olman should beat NVidia - but they dont - theyre 6 seconds too slow
What of Jack Wolfskin? The formidable partnership of Cornu and Reus do take the lead - by 46 seconds
Vespa-Caffreys, Quinziato and Ascani, are slow. 1'47 behind, they only beat Wiggle
IKEA Bianchi, with Taaramae and Larsson, go 4th. Precisely a minute behind Jack Wolfskin, placing them just ahead of BMC
Nespressos pairing of Kiryenka and Gutierrez Palacios were tipped to go well - but they are only 1 second faster than IKEA, scraping into 4th place
The Lego team were not much of a Duo. Haijun Ma is a whole 10 TT stats better than Eichler, but that is enough still to beat Vespa and Wiggle, 1'28 behind Jack Wolfskin
Clement and Aramendia of NOS go 9 seconds faster than Lego, they are just behind Molteni
AON Global have Kaisen and De Maar here, and they produce the same time as Vespa Caffreys, putting them well down
Two teams to go, both are tipped to threaten for the podium spots currently held be Jack Wolfskin, surprise package NVidia (+46) and IrnBru (+52).
Sony Ericsson have Lang and Johansson, and they go 3rd, +50
That just leaves Ignatiev and Wiggins of 100% Me. Hopes of beating Jack Wolfskin are long gone as they race towards the finish - its going to be close between them and NVidia, but they do take 2nd - 45 seconds behind Jack Wolfskin, 1 ahead of NVidia
