In a mountain stage which didn't end in a top, there were gaps. This stage ends in the top of a climb and the gaps should be even bigger. This is also the last chance for pure climbers to win valuable time as they may lose in the time-trail.
Sohrabi, Colby, Wyss, Pires, Bertogliati and Haddou get away from the peloton.
MartÃnez, van der Hugenhaben, Ferrio and Cornu attack in the first climb.
But Cornu can't keep up with the other three.
Colby is the first over the first climb. Haddou and Bertoglaiti couldn't keep up with the front group. 65km to go and the gap to the pack is 6 minutes and a half. The peloton is also two minutes behind of the three "late" attackers.
Colby is also the first in the second mountain. 33km to the finish line - 4'36''.
Ochoa Quintero, Gárate and Ratti attack in the first part of the final climb.
They are caught a bit after along with van der Hugenhaben, Ferrio and MartÃnez.
Danielson is off with 11km to go! Carrara and Stetina immediately counter.
Kiserlovski, Larsson, Ochoa Quintero and Weening also attack.
But nodoby can get a gap over the peloton, after an amazing work of Valjavec which caught Danielson and Kiserlovski which made their teammates relay in order to catch Stetina and Larsson.
Colby is alone in the front and Pires is chasing him. Colby's advantage to the peloton is 2 minutes and he has 6km to run.
Pires was caught but Colby has a gap of 44 seconds with two kilometers to the finish line.
Colby is still leading in the last 1000 meters. The next group only has 12 riders and Weening, Pfannberger and Gárate are not there.
Danielson and Stetina sprint past Colby with 500 meters to the line!
Victory for Danielson! Stetina gets the second place and there seems to be a gap between them and the rest of the group headed by Alarcon.
