After the victory in the last stage, Valverde should have secured the overall victory because today's stage is a flat (with an ascent) circuit, so, in theory, sprinters time to shine.

Veloso, Terciado, Kvist, De Greef, Corwin, Broers and Norris try to make the breakaway by attacking in the beginning of the stage.

50km to go and the advantage is around 4 minutes and a half.

20km later, the gap is 3 minutes because of the hard chase performed by Wii Racing and Santander.

The gap decreases to 2 minutes but the breakaway riders are already in the last 15 kilometers!

Wii Racing is not chasing anymore but the gap continues to decrease. 1'29'' - 10km to the finish line.

Under the 5km banner, the gap is around one minute which means that the victory is likely to go for a rider of this group.

Maybe because of that, there is no organized train in the peloton.

Kvist is the best sprinter in this group and he is in a good position, the third one. Norris is also strong and he is right behind him. But these riders may had suffered with the hills along the route.

De Greef leads with 1000 meters to the finish, after a good acceleration.

And holds the gap to the line. Victory for the Belgian! Norris and Kvist close the podium. Veloso, Corwin, Terciado and Broers take the remaining positions, respectively.
