The third stage of this Spanish stage race is an individual time-trial which can provide a new leader to this race as Lloret is a big favourite for today's stage. Hoste and Kiryenka are also well rated for the stage win.

Muller is a decent time-trailist and he proves that as he marks a nice reference time, after beating the former leader, Ascani: 19'37''.

But then comes Sutherland, 6 seconds faster at the check. And he would take the lead at the finish by 10 seconds.

Sutherland's lead didn't last long as his teammate, Hoste, beats him by six seconds, gaining four between the check and the finish.

Mazur, the Polish TT champion, loses 3 seconds to Hoste in the check. But, in the finish, he takes the lead by two seconds!

In theory, Zirbel could fight for the victory today. But, he gets only the fourth place for him, so far, with the same time as Sutherland.

Scholz surprises in the first check, with a time which is only 2 seconds worse than the better by that point. But he loses a lot after as in the finish his time is 20 seconds worse than the one from Mazur.

Hoste's time at the check was too good to be beaten? Vicioso says no as he beats it by 4 seconds! Maybe the wind is playing some tricks. He can't beat Mazur's time in the finish though, 7 seconds worse.

Kiryenka is two seconds better at the check. He can't keep up the great pace though, he gets provisional second in the end, losing one second to Mazur.

Not a great start for Taaramae, 5 seconds worse than the best time at the intermediate check. Until the end, another 6 seconds are lost. 7th so far, pretty disappointing for the Estonian.

New best time at the check done by Lloret! He will be the overall leader tomorrow if Valverde doesn't make a great time-trial.

Basso does a good performance, only losing 13 seconds to Mazur and getting 10th provisional.

Lloret does his best... and his best is enough to take the stage lead. He beats Mazur's time by 10 seconds!

Valverde comes and he loses 8 seconds to Lloret, getting second place in this stage. Second in the stage, but first overall as he keeps the jersey by tenths of a second!
