In a result similar to many PCM versions of the race, a large first lap breakaway got clear in the Australian Championships, and built up too big a gap. So the surprise winner is Garmins Travis Meyer. Most of the pre-race favourites were over 6 minutes back, while McEwen didnt start.

Yeah, older brother Cameron is time trial champion and the younger one Travis is road race champion...really nice and double-nice as they are on the same team
