Another flat stage, with three climbs. The climbs aren't very difficult, but are rated as such, with a maximum of 42 KOM points on the day. There is also an intermediate sprint, and it is expected that the stage will end in a mass sprint.

Shortly after the stage began, Sano (Ultra Adventure), Arvesen (Nvidia), Dyadichkin (Starbucks), and Li (Ernst and Young) broke away from the pack:

The gap would peak at 7'45", but as the first climb neared, Energie and Kenda started gearing up the chase in the pack.

Dyadichkin would take the first KOM sprint:

And with the pack getting closer and closer (down to around 3 and a half minutes at this point), Li took a tight sprint over Arvesen and Sano:

And then Li would promptly win the next Mountain sprint:

Arvesen would then come through for the last KOM points, however the jersey would end up with Dyadichkin, who will wear it tomorrow:

There were more points than for just the first four spots, so riders were attacking from the pack over every climb. Over the second climb, Duque and Efimkin (Wii and Kenda respectively), got a gap, and over the third climb Valjavec (E&Y) would join them. They caught up to the first breakaway group with around 7 km left.

But with 6.5 km left it was all back together:

And with 3 km the major sprint favorites (Corioni, Goss, Forster) were nowhere to be seen. Instead, Fischer was leading out Richeze (Nespresso), with Carrara (Olympus-Air Asia) following:

And Richeze would easily take the win, with Carrara second and Duque third:

Corioni would however, remain in yellow.
