On paper this race starts after Qinghai is ~half done, but I will probably post it up much sooner than that.
Brixia Tour is quite similar to the other Italian stage race, Giro del Trentino, except without the time trial, as it does have a hill, a mountain and a flat stage. It stands with reason then that Nocentini will be one of the favourites, again with Lloret, Ghisalberti, Pedraza, Taaramae and Basso amongst those who should again be challenging the top positions. The change comes from Energie Diesel though, who bring Perez Cuapio as opposed to Nicacio and Mercado.

Now this, I would like to win. Home ground, with my best squad here. If I don't win, I may cry.

Basso has been doing well in the hills - so a good result in the first stage will hopefully set him up for the second. Would love to podium. |

Well, I hope Basso manages to redeem himself after his flop at Trentino. |

Ghisalberti is gonna slapp Basso's and Nocentini's fingers.

I presume Taaramäe is going to win this. I just want Top 3 for Basso - as it's the first of my season goals.
I don't think he'll get it, but should at least be recognized as leader for the mountain stage - which is sometimes all you can ask for. |

Next stage is gonna be interesting, especially to see who gonna act as a leader. I'm hoping for Pedraza now when he didn't lose time on the first stage.

Classic silly AI, Nocentini would have won that easy if he hadn't followed the wrong wheel. Typical. Still, a mountain stage could be fun... right?!

The suspense is killing me.
First goal of the season this, so I'm nervous. Could make or break Christmas. |

Excellent.
Basso is really going to need the national bonus to pull out a big result. I wasn't happy in the transfer season that I couldn't get a slightly better climber to go after this goal. |

Good effort from Basso - just not a good enough climber in the end to deliver. Pity some of the others weren't in China. |

Nice by Cuapio. Too bad he can't get to the 2nd place after a stage like that but excellent ride anyway

Good try from Gatto. Would've been nice to win a stage.
One thing I've noticed - they're a lot of good riders in this division - but every one of the teams at the top of the Continental ranks would probably have a huge struggle in the Pro Tour.
There might be an even bigger scrap for Menchov - assuming he doesn't have a big drop in stats due to age - this close season. |
