So, an almost completely flat stage is what stage 8 has to offer.

Break of the day: De Gendt, Donald, Fiedler, Aulas, Mollema, Bono and Champion with his team mate Krivtsov caught in-between. None of these were any threat to anything.

... except the stage victory. Warner Brothers and Festina especially seemed interested in catching the break, and that happened with 10 km to go, leaving the stage victory to the sprinters.

It ended up quite unorganized, though. Wegmann in front (with a great gap to the 'actual' sprinters), Cancellara a bit further down, and no sprinters until the 2nd duo of Credit Lyonnais riders: Dumoulin, Pozzato, Boonen, Hushovd and Vanderbiest.

With one km to go, and it's still Wegmann in front. But he's up against four Credit Lyonnais riders (Pozzato, Gerrans, Konovalovas and Dumoulin), Cancellara, Boonen and Hushovd.
