The first flat stage of the race, Ignatiev seems to have the overall sown up, but who will come second? It will probably come down to whoever finishes higher between De Maar and Kessler.
Also who will win the stage? The favourites are Bongiorno, Kennaugh and Galdos, although after the last two stages Ignatiev is obviously also in with a chance. Also will Bertogliatti be pulled back with 2 kilometres to go again?
and we are under way
There was no breakaway by the first sprint point
So several riders rode off the front slightly
they didn't even bother sprinting though so Van Emden won over Galdos and Dempster
They were pulled back easily
Up the categorised climb we had attacks including from the joint leaders of the KoM, can one of them take the decisive points today?
Rabon took first, with Jerciado 2nd and Mancuso 3rd.
Locatelli can just watch as he only comes in 6th and falls four points behind.
The peleton quickly pulls everyone back though
10th overall Hermans gets a puncture, however the pace is slow and he makes it make easily.
While the cameras are on him Velemtfoort has attacked away with Striska and Vandewalle trying to close the gap.
Velemtfoort rides away from them and builds up a 4 min lead before Molteni starts chasing
He takes the mountain sprint
Vandewalle leads over for second
the first two breakaway riders are caught 3km before the sprint point
Velmetfoort takes it and 2 min later Gomes Colinas lead Dempster and the rest of the pack through
30km to go now and a bunch sprint looks certain
Up the final rise, 15km to go and Velmetfoort is almost caught.
Again riders attack for points although this time Locatelli has the jump on Mancuso.
He needs to win the climb though and Unfortunately for him Rabon is too fast. He takes second though in front of Weening and hence falls 1 point short.
Rabon has a small gap though and Ignatiev and Grabovski try to make a break for it.
They fly past him as Sobal goes with them.
They all end up riding solo, which can't be good for their chances.
The peleton has split, however and behind the three soloists Rabon is joined by Van der Velde, Froome, Kessler and De Maar.
With 2.3 km to go Rabon leads out, however Ignatiev looks out of reach in the distance.
Van der Velde leaps up to Sobal and looks to keep going as Ignatiev goes under 1 km to go.
Ignatiev celebrates a great victory and the end of a tour he dominated.
Grabovski comes second 30 seconds back.
with Van de Velde leading in Kessler, De Maar, Sobal Rabon and Froome.
Ochoa Quinto wins the sprint for ninth with Wiggins coming in tenth,
Again the jury gives Wiggins the best time possible as this time it only gives Ignatiev a time gap. This is starting to get somewhat suspicious.
So the result is that the top 10 do not change, neither do any of the lesser jerseys. In fact the only change to the top 20 is Tennant who missed a split and dropped out.
