Welcome to the first stage of Ster Electrotoer, a 12 Kilometer pan flat time trial.
The Main Favourites for this stage are Cornu, Ignatiev and Reus, with other favourites being Dempster, Kyrienka and Olman.
And Eeckhout gets us under way.
Hermans is the first decent Time trialist to start
and he takes first in a time of 14'26'' 43 seconds clear
Sobal is the next rider to challenge for the lead
however he falls just one second short
Vandenbroeck is pushing hard to take the lead
and does so by comfortably by 25 seconds
however his lead does not look like it will stand for long as right behind him Day has the finish line in sight
however he falls only 1 second short of taking the lead.
Cornu is immediately after Day so Vandenbroek's lead still looks unlikely to last
and Cornu takes the lead by 15 seconds with a time of 13'46''
Kiryenka is the next favourite to go
however he disappoints with a provisional 4th, 21seconds back.
Olman is the next favourite to chase down Cornu
and he catches his 90 second man under the red pendant
however still falls seven seconds short
Ignatiev looks focused on victory
however 3 seconds back is the best he can do.
Dempster is the next rider looking to set a strong time.
and although his photo disappeared into obscurity, he did not, coming in only nine seconds back.
Vandewalle comes in 18 seconds behind.
Reus is moving like there is a lion on his backside however maybe that caused extra air resistance as he only came in 7th, 17 second off the pace.
Kessler is looking to minimise his loss to the time trial specialists
and 27 seconds back is about as good as he can expect, although it means he will have to attack over the next two days.
Grabolski has to deal with a head wind which has suddenly sprung up.
however he still manages to grab fifth place, 11 seconds back.
Gilbert's probably aiming to beat Kessler
so he will be very disapointed with 42 seconds back in 21st
and when Wiggins crosses the finish line in 3rd place, the race is over.
