How much of an effect will this TT have on the GC?
Oliver Kaisen was the first decent timetrialist on course
Freddy Johansson beats him by 9 seconds though
Another Sony Ericsson rider, stage favourite Sebastian Lang takes the lead by 24 seconds
Riders from American teams, Rollin and Zirbel go 4th and 5th respectively
3rd for Ben Jacques-Maynes, 27 seconds down
Bradley Wiggins was close to Lang at the check, 1 second down, but by the finish that was 9 seconds, the Brit going 2nd
Stef Clement rides to 3rd, 21 seconds behind Lang
The Starbucks dup of Koren and Lowe rode well. Koren equalled Wiggins at the check, while Lowe was just 2 seconds further back. By the finish, Koren goes 3rd +19, while Lowe is 7th +32.
Now to the riders in 6th-4th overall at the start of the day, separated by 0 seconds.
Froome, Leipheimer and Seeldraeyers will be looking to beat each other and also to gain 40 seconds on Calzati and maybe grab a podium spot in GC. Seeldraeyers is the best of the 3 (53 seconds behind Lang), 11 seconds quicker than Froome, and 12 ahead of Leipheimer.
Mikel Astarloza rides to 11th at the finish, +37, and will take 2nd overall
Yuri Trofimov seems unbeatable right now - particularly when he took the lead at the first check. He went on to catch Calzati, but slowed a little to finish 3rd on the stage.
He keeps his GC lead, while Calzati drops to 4th - only just ahead of Froome and Leipheimer.
