I have installed the game on my laptop HP EliteBook 6930p. The startup screen loads. If I click on play the screen goes full screen mode and black. After 2-3 seconds an error message window comes up stating that there is a problem with the application and it needs to be closed. I have re-installed 3 times unsuccessfully. Nah, the video problem generates a white screen, not a black one.
The black screen problem can be related to having a firewall activated, outdated graphic card drivers, corrupted save games (in this case, it sounds like the OP has never managed to start the game, making this one irrelevant) .. and more.
