Vuelta a España - Stage 15

Schleck and Intxaustis positions seems pretty solid, while for the third place, Plaza, Uran and Marchnate are pretty close to eachother. Every stage could be an oppotunity for each of them to make the descicive move, as could be todays.
But for the stage victory, the breakaway must be the favourite. Schleck doesn't need another stage win, so would would chase? On paper, Monfort, LL Sanchez and de la Fuente should be best on these hills, but will the be confident enough to chase anyone down for 200+ kilometers?

Again, Orozco is in the breakaway, this time wearing the KOM jersey since Schleck wears the golden one. With him are today; Tiralongo, Geslin, Engels, Thomas, Erviti and Veelers. But, Belloti rides in front of this groupe. About one minute.

As Orozco, Tiralongo and Engels ride away from the rest on todays biggest climb, Belloti has increased his lead to 1'30.

As Tiralongo and Orozco (in that order) are only just crossing the top, having dropped Engels, Belloti is decending already. The gap has now grown to 1'50. But 120km is a lot to do on your own...

By the time we are on the next climb, Belloti has rode away furhter again; 2'20 to Tiralongo, Orozco and Engels(who got back in the decent) and now it's 5'30 to the pack.

As Belloti reaches the top first obviously, the pack has launced a rocket up this hill, jumping over Orozco and Engels just before the top. Tiralongo is only just ahead of them as Sanchez is third over the top.

Then, with 40km left, on an uncategorized hill, de la Fuente attacks.

Storming past Bellito who is obviously suffering from riding 150km on his own, nobody follows, yet.

Only for Uran, Perez Sanchez and Maistro to attack one minute later. (with others following)

But in the decent it's three men vs. the rest, holding 1 minute.

And next are Schleck, Siutsou and Ivars as the first wave join up with de la Fuente, Perez Sanchez and Uran.

But as a Decent gets in their way, Marquez does get up the the front groupe.

As does Serpa, and a little later, Sanchez, Siutsou, Schleck and Anton too.

And another wave of Castano, Abal, Phinney, Chacon and Camano. Plaza leads with LL Sanchez coming up.

Finally, Intxausti is in the next wave with Cobo van Huffel, Parra Pinto, Zubeldia and Redondo.

So, we have a groupe of 23 men up front. All who attacked minus Chacon are here. Needless to say people are still attacking and being dropped all the time.

Serpa summits first, closely followed bu Schleck and LL Sanchez.

But in the decent the groupe comes together except for Florencio, Redondo and Parra Pinto.
20 men, 3.5 kilometer and 40 seconds. These will make it out today. Phinney is easily the best sprinter around, but he is in the back of the groupe, while Zubeldia seems to be leading Schleck perfectly.

With still Zubeldia in the lead, Cobo comes storming right past everybody on the rigth side.

But as Schleck doesnt pass Zubeldia, Cobo moves into the lead.

There he goes, finally. Onlt Schleck can now stop Cobo... but it's pretty late already...

And yes, it's too late! Cobo wins, Schleck is second, while Serpa takes third.

The remainings of the pack come in three minutes later, but obviously all big men where up front.
