Lots of early hills but then flat up to the final climb up to the finish which will most likely decide this HC race.

And we have attacks right from the start

Reihs starts it but also attacking are Orozco, Lequatre, Merino Criado, Ramos Gamez, Santaromita, Grippo, Echarri, Van Emden, Lowik, Appleby, Martens, Martins, Kinney and Flickinger

But despite having 2 men in there Santander decide to chase, Vespa also chase and as a result, they are all caught

More attacks now: Flcikinger, O'Grady, Kuchinski, Martins, Merino Criado, Coutts, Van Emden, Tuulhangai, Ramos Gamerz, Fouquet, Dupont, Jiriakov, and Grippo

But again they are caught - only Vespa chasing this time.

And after all that, its somewhat dissapointing that the break that does get away, only has 2 riders in it. Martins and Dionne

The lead is at 4 minutes before Vespa, Santander, Sony Ericsson and AON Global start chasing

At 79km to the finish, the breaks lead just under 4 minutes and Weening attacks

Pasamontes, Colom, Martin and Rovny try to counter but there is a descent quite quickly so only Weening gets clear.

Weening rides off towards the break, catching them with 57km to go, their advantage now 2 minutes on the pack

Valjavec and Pasamontes now attack the peleton

Weening has been slowed down by Dionne and Martins, so Valjavec and Pasamontes are closing in on the final climb before the long flat, with 44km to go. But just as they catch up, Weening is finally able to go away from Dionne and Martins

But Gilbert wins! Back-to-back HC races for him. Ginanni 2nd, Valverde 3rd and then Gil and Trofimov

Nocentini sprints to 6th. Ghisalberti, Bettini, Kirchen and Bertagnolli round out the Top 10.
