problem with hannes editor

Hi guys, as far as I know, the only editor which can add\remove cyclists is the kicker... am i right?
With hannes editor Levi Leipheimer magically disappeared from the db i was editing... I don't know if i clicked somewhere where i shouldn't 'cause i don't know german, anyway now the ID of LEVI (524 on the db i was editing) isn't there anymore... Was it an error of mine or a bug? Do I have to use the kicker to repair to my mistake\program bug?

Sounds like the editor can remove cyclists, as can the Hannes converter. If you don't have a backup of your db, yes, you probably need to use kicker to get him back - or overwrite an existing rider.
In that case i'd suggest Jonathan Bridge or Mikael Lemercier, whom are both 'made up' |

lol, now everytime i run a single player game with the edited database, the video turns black and pcm crashes to desktop.
btw I readded Leipheimer with Hannes Converter by copying all his values from another db... I used hannes because I don't have access for the kicker.
Anyway, as i had made several modifications to the db, it would be very sad to start again from the beginning, so... do you have any suggestions for brining the database back to life and have my cycling manager load it without crashing?

alright, either the hannes editor is *full* of bugs or I'm very very stupid.
I've started again from scratch, modified the skills, opened cycling manager and... Ivan Parra had disappeared!
<< Oh no, once again! >> i thought.
So i took a very weak cyclist from cofidis and changed his name into parra and modified his most important skills... very good, i create a new game, and yes!! Parra is there with his skills! But... wait a moment... WHERE IS ROGERS??!!!
Disappeared....
Do the same procedure i did with parra and.... game crashes when i click on career or tour or single race!!
I tried 3 times to redo this last passage, with no result! Game ALWAYS crashes, and i have to delete the documents\cym\database\solo\dbname folder in order to enter the game again, or i get a pcm.exe
So what to do?? |

there is also another thing i've just noticed: the working db is 1726kbytes, now if I make an even little modification (for example a rider from 82MO to 83MO), it becomes a 1722 file! (and crashes) |

Sorry, I can't help you either I'm afraid. I have problems with HannesEditor too; my filesize increases to 1752 and after I start a career, it crashes... The convertor works fine though... |

unluckly neither di converter works fine...
every modification i do to this db (https://rapidshare.com/files/47097357/multiplayer_equilibrato.cdb.html) simply breaks it  |

You have to start all over again. Take a 'clean' DB, without any editing by yourself and start over again. You can take the DB of GCT for instance (https://www.pcmdaily.com/infusions/pro_download_panel/download.php?catid=12), all the ridernames and stuff are corrected there. Then open their DB in the Hannes Convertor and edit some tables, save it, speicher the DB under a different name, select the tables that you changed, and finally move the 'new' DB to C:\My Documents\PCM 2007\Database. Then, play the game!
Also, make sure you did install Framework 2.0! |

I'm pretty sure, I now know what this problem is, as I had it myself a few times, and needed to re-install my game.
The problem is that you're editing from a packed database. You can see whether this is true or not by looking at the file size. The OriginalRelease.cdb is about 290kb i think when it's packed, but once you unpack it, it's 1.7mb.
In Hannes Converter you'd have to edit unpacked db's , so i'm guessing the problem is the same with the editor. You can find a tool on this side to pack/unpack db's |

i have the exact same problem, ive always used pcm edit in previous versions, and so was not entirely comfortable with the hannes editor. started editing various rider statistics on the real names db and seemed to get the hang of it, and was in fact quite pleased until i noticed fabian cancellara had disappear from the db, what is the cause of this? |
