Its the 3rd and final Philadelphia Classic of the week - and its the big one, the HC rated Philadelphia International Championship.
Here is the breakaway, Creed, Pichot, Fleeman, Renshaw, Caldwell, Van Mingeroet, Becerra and Vitor
It peaked at 8 minutes before Vespa-Caffreys and AON Global took control of the bunch, decreasing the gap
The gap is at 1'50 with 52km to go, as Vicioso attacks
Visconti and Wegmann counter - but Wegmann fails to get away
But actually no one stays away, the break and Visconti and Vicioso are all brought back
So we have just 1 lap of the course left to decide the race, and the attacks inevitably come on the final climb. Paolini leads the way as Rabon looks to follow
Wegmann, Gilbert and Ginanni counter
And those three plus Paolini make up the front group
Despite Ginanni's presence, Bettini leads the charge in the group behind. Colom trying to follow him and then there is Rabon and Van Garderen
The front 4 try to stay just 4, attacking again
But Bettini and Colom get themselves across
Bettini immediately attacks the group
He doesnt get far though, amid the responses
But Bettini then goes clear and gets a gap this time
But it wont last long, and as it comes backtogether Van Garderen has at last managed to make the junction
And another attempt by Bettini. Again it doesnt last long
Nearly 2 minutes behind these 7 are 5 chasers: Visconti, Rabon, Sabido, Leukemans and Vicioso
Things settle down for a few kilometres, as Gilbert hits the front with 7km to go
And he hits them hard, getting a gap
The rest of the group seem to expect Bettini to do the work
Gilbert pulls out a 30 second advantage - can he be caught now?
Bettini is on the front of the chase, into the final 3km, his sprint could help, but his sprint isnt helping. Realising this with 2km to go, Paolini sees that he has to go
Paolini is able to get a gap, as the others linger behind Van Garderen until Wegmann finally goes
The race though is Phillipe Gilbert's, having impressively rode away from his rivals
2nd for Paolini but the battle is hotting up behind for 3rd
Ginanni rounds out the podium! Just ahead of Wegmann, Bettini (despite not actually sprinting), Van Garderen and Colom
Leukemans, Vicioso and Sabido round out the Top 10, ahead of Rabon and Visconti
Freire wins the bunch sprint for 13th, ahead of Lowik and Astarloa
