Hi, it's pretty long time since I've played PCM, and I'm not sure which database I should download. I know PCM.daily have always made good databases, but I see that there are more! I remember Pym Spain's DB for PCM07 which I loved, are their 2009 DB good?
So, which 2009 database do YOU think is best?
I made a poll with six options, I don't really know if all these are the best ones, feel free to ask me to add more
Halvor.

Best .db is kind of a silly question in my opinion.
It all depends what you want out of the .db. |

well i think i could make it public if plakkernl is ok with that
i want to add couple of more races and im still waiting for new ppdb patch that is supossed to come in immediate future
couple of things you should know:
the races i ve added are from ppdb giant 2008 and pcmdaily 2009 beta thats means they are mostly from 2008 calendar
some of the races are no longer held or have other sponsor so the name of the race can be confusing but there are only 2 or 3 such races (dont kill me for that )
some of the xml files are for 2007 PCM manager and for some reason they cause error so i had to throw them away so some stage races are a bit shorter
im not experienced when it comes to making some adjustment to the stages (like wind,hills/mountain ratio, rain probability and so on) its a good chance i did some mistakes
as you can see its db for my own personal use (i m not hardcore reality fan) so if you dont like edit it yourself
if im goin to make it public i ll make ppl know about it |

As everyone has said, it depends a lot on what you prefer.
I'm not an expert on the other DBs, so I can only comment on PCM.daily's databases.
What we've aimed for with the (Full) 09 DB (= not the Expansion Pack) is to make the best possible career DB with a balance between the amount of teams and the speed of the game. It's a well-known fact that the more teams and races, the slower the game is. So instead of just adding all the teams that we found worth of adding, we've been very aware of the effect that adding a team (and race) has.
So, after having found that balance, we've basically just tried adding a lot of cool features. More variants (also for National Championships), a huge amount of good-looking equipment, realistic stage settings (e.g. you'll experience side wind in the Tour de France on the 'correct stages', you will see a sprinter win on the Saint-Girons stage, etc.), riders banned for doping returning to race after their ban has expired, a completely new list of free agents, etc.
All-in-all, we aimed at making a career DB for the 'usual' PCM player. |

That's a very good feature, the original db has a lot of bad decisions in that area.
Can you make Gent-Wevelgem more probable to end in a sprint?? maybe defining it has non cobbled, also de Panne real sprint stages always end like if it was paris-roubaix. |

That's always been by far my biggest beef with PCM, but Cyanide don't seem to care
There's absolutely no way to set the DB so that cobbled classics can end in sprints. That's something that only cyanide can do by changing the AI.
Same thing with GC favorites attacking in hilly stages of Grand Tours (which they REALLY shouldn't). That and not enough breaks making it.
