The last stage is also the queen stage. There 8 climbs on today's route, all looking quite steep. Even though he hadn't win any stage so far, Efimkin was always there at the top and he is the yellow jersey in this last stage. With a little bit of luck and good ride he'll probably be able to keep it and win the race, but looking at the last 2 climbs they might be categorised as mountains so Efimkin could have some difficulties there
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0001-24.jpg

Pinto was first at the first summit of the day
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0002-4.jpg

He was followed by a group with Gabrovski, Diggle, Stybar, Striska and De Vocht
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0003-21.jpg

He was caught on the downhill by that group and they continued the race together
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0005-12.jpg

But not for too long on the next climb, De Vocht and Striska cracked and they were dropped off
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0006-11.jpg

Gabrovski was the only one interested in the KoM points and he attacked to win the second climb of the day, with Pinto and Stybar taking the other spots on the podium
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0007-13.jpg

Kenda lead the pack in the first half of the race and they never let the escapes have more than 6 minutes advantage
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0008-9.jpg

On the third climb of the day we saw Gabrovski again having no opponents for the KoM points
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0009-14.jpg

Same thing happened on the next climb and the Acqua & Sapone rider is the virtual polka dot jersey
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0010-11.jpg

Gabrovski also win the fifth climb of the day which brings his total to 4 today. He will most likely win the KoM competition
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0011-8.jpg

There aren't a lot of great climbers at Kenda and after a great chase behind the escapes they had to let BMC and Energie Diesel take the lead of the pack
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0012-10.jpg

Gabrovski is probably the winner of the KoM competition but not everything is going great for him as he punctures and loses the contact with the other 3 escapes
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0013-7.jpg

Few kilometres later he is caught by the pack
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0014-8.jpg

He might have lost some crucial points as he was nowhere at the sixth climb of the day, where Diggle got the first position, followed by Pinto and Stybar
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0016-10.jpg

The escapes started the penultimate climb of the day with a very small advantage in front of the pack and they were soon caught by Moreno, who attacked at the right at the bottom of the climb
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0020-8.jpg

Energie Diesel took the lead of the pack to bring Moreno back but they only caught Diggle
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0024-5.jpg

3 kilometres before the top, Stybar is leading followed closely by Pinto and Moreno and the pack not far either
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0026-5.jpg

Soon Moreno got away from Pinto and he caught Stybar
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0029-7.jpg

Stybar is in real trouble at the moment as he isn't able to keep it up with Moreno and he looks like going to be caught by the pack as well
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0034-1.jpg

Moreno is first at the top and he a little bit of luck he might still the KoM jersey from Gabrovski
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0038-2.jpg

Taaramae and Calzati are leading the pack at the top, 30 seconds behind Moreno
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0041-5.jpg

Taaramae made an attack there at the end of the climb and he caught Moreno on the downhill
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0044-1.jpg

Right before the last climb started we had some new attackers: Mercado and Calzati
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0048-4.jpg

Soon they caught Moreno and Taaramae
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0052-2.jpg

Kessler is also coming to the group
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0056-3.jpg

But it's the whole pack coming actually. 5 kilometers to the top and the end of the race
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0063-2.jpg

Still that acceleration helped Kessler getting a little advantage over the others
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0066-2.jpg

Efimkin is coming after him, on his first move of the day
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0069-2.jpg

And he even looked like going to leave Kessler behind for a few moments
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0073-3.jpg

He wasn't able to do that though and they were both later caught by Taaramae, Mercado, Gutierrez Palacios and Moreno
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0078-2.jpg

But that group didn't stay together for too long either and they split into 2 groups of 3 riders each. Moreno, Taaramae and Gutierrez weren't able to follow the others and they were left behind
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0082.jpg

So it looks like it's going to be between Mercado, Efimkin and Kessler for today's win. So Efimkin is in the first group 2 kilometers before the finish. It's going to be almost imposible to lose the jersey now
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0086.jpg

Bad news for Kessler as he cracks right before the final sprint started
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0091.jpg

Mercado is leading with one kilometer left and Efimkin doesn't look like going to beat him today
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0095-1.jpg

Second stage win for Mercado and he might have a chance to win the points jersey
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0099.jpg

Efimkin is second. Still no stage win for him but he gets the most important one: the GC
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0102.jpg

Kessler was caught by the second group of the race. Moreno finished fourth and with the KoM points won on this climb, those won on the intermediate climbs today and on the other stages got him the KoM jersey, beating Gabrovski by 4 points
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0105.jpg

Vicioso was really fast in the last kilometers and he got the same time with the second group, while Calzati and Nicacio also won some time over the pack today
i809.photobucket.com/albums/zz14/alexkr00_rab2/PCM0109.jpg

The big loser of the day is Alarcon who wasn't able to keep it up with the pack today and he lost his place in the top 10, which was taken by Vicioso
