How do you know how much the prize money for each stage race overall reult is worth? Bonuses for overall points, mountain, and young rider too? Is there a schedule or chart somewhere?
For example, I am trying to figure out if it is better to send riders to a 5 day 2.1 race or a 3 day 1.1 race.
Thanks everyone! |

When You go to click on the stages to see the profiles, on the right side you can see the prize for first place for each stage. It won't tell you the total amount for the overall standings tho |

You can find the values in the Classifications folder in Program Files/Cyanide/PCM. Open the files with Notepad and look for PRIZE_MONEY |

Thank you very much! I am working on creating a spreadsheet for the overall results prize monies. Will be happy to publish here if anyone is interested.
Thank you again for having all the answers! |

If I am informed correctly, the prize money has flaws. I have read that the prize money is related to the type of the last stage but not all types have the money defined or defined differentely. |

From what I see in the folder CrueTrue mentioned, there are different prizes for overall time, points, mtn, -25, and team in each of the following categories: 1hc, 2hc, 1.1, 2.1, and the Pro Tour events have their own overall prizes.
For example, the Dauphnie Libre awards an additional 40,000 to win overall time, (top 25 get a bonus) 5,000 for overall points (top 6 get a bonus) 5,000 for overall mountain (top 6 get a bonus) 10,000 for overall team (top 5 get a bonus) and 3,000 for overall young rider (top 5 get a bonus.)
In the Tour de Suisse, it's 50,000 to win overall time (etc) 200,000 for the Giro and Vuelta, and for the TDF it's an extra 300,000 to win overall!!! Not to mention the other classifications.
Knowing the final prize money awarded matters when sponsor money doesn't match rider and staff salaries.

Wow... that's something worth knowing! (not that they give you money, indeed, but how much!)
If you finally make this spreadsheet, i'd be interested in having a look :)
Thanks! |

If you pack it ('send to ZIP file' is an option in Windows XP/Vista), you can attach it to your post by clicking "reply". |

Here they are- the Excel file has both tours on 2 sheets. These will not be revised- if you find an error feel free to change your copy.
Disclaimer: I cannot guarentee your add-on db didn't change these amounts. I use the PCM Benelux and PPDB.
Ihope you find these helpful!
