2 races, 1 thread. Simple!

So race 1, Paris-Tours. Very last finish on Avenue de Gramont as the pedestrianize it and add a tram way

And then, the final race of the season in Lombardy

Gesink for revenge in Lombardia? He's been riding up the Madonna del Ghisallo last week in preparation for the worlds, so he knows the course Pfft
But his season will probably end just like it was all year long...

I say Cunego again in Lombardia

Wyman
For Lombardy 1 name.... Cunego Grin

Will be good to see if anyone actually goes in it this year...
Last year wasn't exactly a top class field...

Evans must be riding it just to show off his jersey Pfft

Yep, Evans will want to show off the new shiny colourful jersey.
Alot of names have already ended their season.

Oh and Cavendish in Tours? He says he will ride it if he gets over the illness.

I'd love to see Gesink wining in Lombardia, but the question is if will he race there, and if he does, in what condition.

Yeah Sad Hopefully there's 2 good races to see us through though, oh and the politics will never be too far away. (Valverde)

Yup then for me it's back round to thinking... i wonder if Cunego can do well in the Giro again... then watching him do well at the classics and me being disapointed watching him suck again Grin

Well there's always the Cyclocross... and then during winter months i switch to Biathlon Grin

Olympics this year by the way.

Tour Down Under is only a few months away though Smile
There's track season (if anyone actually follows it), Cyclo-Cross season.

There's also Giro dell'Emilia, usually it's a good race, at least the end (same climb of this year Giro stage 14, that Gerrans won). Di Luca won last year and Evans made 6ΒΊ, maybe he'll ride it.

As one of the monuments, Lombardia deserves a thread of its own. Angry

Lumping this with Paris-Tours - which in itself is not a bad race - makes me really feel for the race.

Seems it gets less important every year.

Time for PCM.daily to make a stand, and give it a thread of its own. Pfft

I really like Paris-Tours though, it's gone down in status recently. Lombardia is always a special race

No Mr.Lol, Gesinks season is pretty much over, I don't think he can get back into shape again for Lombardy. Just hoping Hoogerland might do something (top 10 instead of just outside?)

The favourites are those who want to do something in Lombardia and are still motivated and fresh. Climbing abilitie and such are less important at the end of the year. Just look at lasts years result...

So in Lombardia it's really a gamble between fresh/motivated climbers (even subtop riders..) and in Paris Tours it's more or less a lottery.

Lombardia win Valverde. Surely he wouldn't want Contador finishing first on UCI pro tour points. He would want to retain 1st overall.

kumazan
Valverde in Italy? No way.
